Im a 64 year old white guy with two grand children and a large family. I will use this piece to show my grand children the difference between a real reaporter conducting an honest interview such as yourself and most professional reporters and a CLOWN trying to be a reporter (Jesse Waters). It is important in this day and. age for people to be able to distinguish the bullying and shut it down. Rony Chieng I thank you and the daily show.

Hey Bill, great comment. I just added my own comment (probably too long winded, my bad) expressing my thoughts as a 61 year old white guy born in North Dakota who is married to an immigrant from China. It just staggers my mind that Jesse Walters has a job...but even more so that in 2024 there are people who enjoy watching people like Waters, and worse yet companies like making huge piles of cash spewing this junk.

Ronnie's an intelligent lad with righteous indignation in this case well placed. "...amazingly professional..."?? No. If your material makes seven-year-olds laugh your more deserving of "hazer" status. The reaction piece needed to be done to be sure! I love your one's "I'm from QUEENS!", but I'd have edited out Ronnie's suggestive hand gestures and the other references a la "privates". When dealing with FOX & F*#%s one is usually better off taking the searing, yet Seinfeld, tack.

This is part of why the whole notion of "I don't see color" is flawed: it's a nice thought, but in practice is all about homogeny and forcing diverse people to assume a "default" culture as defined by the majority. It's about making sure the people who have the most power remain as comfortable as possible by wiping out any distinctions that would give them FOMO, like different languages, religions, cultures, traditions, etc. The end result is a society that mocks and belittles anyone who doesn't conform to that default, with language being a key component of that.

I was both angry and so sad when I saw that video. To this day I can’t even look at Watters. My daughter is from China. She adopted us when she was a baby. We had and still have many friends in the Chinese community where we live. A dear sweet couple who were seniors became surrogate grandparents to our sweet girl. They poured all the love in their hearts out to my daughter and have had lasting influence on her and our lives. They fled southern China after the revolution. They only knew a few words of english but we had no problem understanding the love and care they gave our whole family. When Waters did that piece and mocked the older folks I couldn’t help but see our friends and how easily he could have treated them the same. It makes me sick to think if it. I can’t believe he is still on the air.

It's Disrespectful that they let us immigrate here and we don't speak English is slap in the face for the U.S. It also offends me when ppl ask me if I speak Spanish and I thought the primary language here is English??? It's just like if you immigrate in whatever other country and you force them to speak your language and you're moving into their country you should by respect and courtesy to learn the language of that country you're immigrating to. Being racist has been normal in this country for centuries! It escalated after Trump got into the office, and people started saying the quiet parts out loud along with acting out the racist behaviors. Trump's plan is to toss out the Civil Rights law that was put in place, so that people who aren't white, will have no recourse when they're discriminated against.

I get what Ronny is saying about going to Chinatown is "racist" but where else would you go without stereotyping? It's called Chinatown for a reason... I've been to Flushing many times and majority of those folks really don't speak English although they've been here for decades. Jesse chose random people he found in Chinatown that so happen to not speak English. Ronny interviewed folks that do speak English. Of course both have an agenda and only show one side of the story. Take everything with a grain of salt and stop calling everything racist. It's ruining our nation...

Ok, were going to give you a pass on this question because youre not from the States. The answer to your question " how could fox news air such pathetic reporting" is simply, because ITS FOX NEWS and pathetic, easily exposed, propaganda is all they do. You see, in the US, the Daily Show bills itself as a comedy show, not REAL news, but the truth is all they speak. At the same time Fox NEWS bills itself as REAL NEWS but is actually a propaganda tool for republicans and all they tell is LIES, to people who believe that there is no such thing as reality, and that the truth is anything enough people WISH were true or that you can get enough people to believe. -Don't even try to figure that out, its an American thing...
