Black is color of Saturn that is very hard, heavy planet. Saturn brings delays, difficulties, hardships ... Not everyone is qualified to wear black. I think you misunderstood the point. The point was not to wear certain clothes on certain days, the point was to wear certain clothes based on energies that you would like to absorb. Which makes more sense than a rather simplistic explanation not to wear black on certain days. Let's say you have a big spiritual event on a Saturday, and your mom told you not to wear black that day, what would you do? Let all energies reflect by wearing white? Or you would rather decide what to wear based on the event itself? I am happy that you are listening to Sadhguru, but please listen more carefully.

Dear all, I think Sadguruji is talking about the capabilities of the colors and it's interaction with our surroundings. It's not about good or bad colours. We are somehow related with this cosmic world beyond our imagination. He is speaking about how the energies can be utilized or what kind of energy we are pulling towards us in terms of colors. For example, a black object is black because it absorbs all light and does not reflect any. On the other hand, white color reflects all. The same way when you are wearing something black, as tendency of the color, the black clothing absorbs energy, for example heat. And this heat is absorbed to the person's body who is wearing it. A certain amount. Now it's upto you about what you need to take in or not. What I am saying is Sadguruji is not saying whether black is bad and white is good. He is saying how these colors respond to energies in the outside world.

I completely understood what he had to say. For myself, wearing black cloths was a way I was able to hide into my cloths, not to wear a noisy color and not to be noticed. So things like gravity, natural laws--these still affect us because we agreed to before birth. So i agree with you to an extent, but l wouldnt write off Sadghuru completely, as l also think hes on to something. i love wearing black. it’s something i’ve done for most of my life & brings me peace. when i wear colors (except green) or white, i get overstimulated easily. the black clothes are a canvas for my spirit to show its colors. i’m also alternative so maybe that adds on to this thought.

My grandmother used to scold me whenever i wore black tshirts. She used to say that everyday you pass by graveyard while going to school so its not good to wear black. Never understood her and now regretting. Our culture has deepest meaning even our modern science is still behind it.

I wish I'd known this during the 10 years I lived in NYC! I'm from Southern California originally, where everyone has a sunny disposition (and the clothes to match). Everyone wears black in NYC. While I lived there, I stopped wearing my favorite pink and white colored clothes during winter (which lasts for 9 months in New York) because I felt like I received disapproving glances, and I wanted to "fit in," so I started wearing grey and black and navy. I ended up becoming so depressed! I felt like I was working so hard to deflect negativity, and I was frequently mocked for being upbeat and positive. This color factor is such an amazing revelation. I would not believe it except for having truly experienced it. Side note: I've been out of NYC for a year, and almost all the clothes I've purchased in this year have been white. Amazing.

I’m from NYC and lived there 20 years. And I know exactly how you feel. The people there don’t like positive, upbeat people because NYC people keep hustling. I do have to say keep doing what you are doing because the upbeat and fun personality you have has a lot to do with being feminine. And their isn’t a lot of feminine females in this world right now, you are truly unique in NYC and you will soon see the reward for it.

Same here! When I lived in Tokyo I used to wear black all the time. I moved to the countryside and I never wear black it’s almost like a reflection of ones mental state. Whenever I go into Tokyo everybody’s dressed in black and looks depressed and tired!
