This is a brief clip of Sadhu Natanananda talking about Ramana Maharshi's teachings in his garden in Tiruvannamalai in 1969. It has been taken from a French documentary by Louis Malle that was filmed in India that year. The subtitles translate the dubbed French, not the original Tamil.
Sadhu Natanananda compiled Upadesa Manjari (Spiritual Instruction), wrote the essay version of Self-Enquiry, and was the editor of the first Tamil edition of Guru Vachaka Kovai. He was not, as the interviewer claims, the first disciple of Ramana Maharshi.
Sadhu Natanananda's own book, Sri Ramana Darsanam, is available in both Tamil and English from Sri Ramanasramam. It records incidents Sadhu Natanananda witnessed around Bhagavan and gives detailed commentaries on many aspects of Ramana Maharshi's life and teachings.
Indian customers can purchase from the Sri Ramanasramam Book Depot. Outside India the book is available at davidgodman.org...
