John and Korey Cooper of Skillet join Sadie to drop some serious encouragement on how to navigate anxiety about singleness, marriage, and raising kids. They offer their unapologetic response to today's watered-down, "safe" Gospel and talk about why sexual freedom isn't true freedom. They also get into what it looks like to be in the world but not of the world, why the Gospel is the opposite of shame, and why we, as believers, are called to go into the darkness. "Awake & Alive to Truth: Finding Truth in the Chaos of a Relativistic World" by John Cooper is available now.

This episode had to be my favorite!! John and Korey were so transparent and down to earth. I love how they share how God worked in their life, and the way they speak truth! So inspiring as a single mom to a two year old. I am definitely encouraged by this!

I loved hearing their encouragement in standing up for Christ. I lost my husband of 21 and a half years earlier this year and have been struggling with feeling the light of Christ in me diminishing and loosing effectiveness to be a witness through this season of grieving. At work I feel I am not bold enough to stand up for Christ and feel my "armor" is diminished in the good fight. But I am encouraged when I hear other believers such as John and Korey stand up for Christ in this culture. I am a big fan since 2006 when I heard Rebirthing on the radio for the first time. Sooo good. Thanks. Glad to know they are rockin' it for the King.

Whoa 😳 that was so good! I needed this word today, I’m a single momma who Jesus Christ saved from a life of sexual immorality and addiction. Shame and guilt is something I deal with a lot lately, I try to take those thoughts and make them obedient to Christ and pray. I’m in my late 30’s and have a 16 yr old and a 2 yr old 🤯 both boys. Life is hard to do single because it’s not how God designed it, I pray I find a Godly man who wants to come alongside me and love and guide these boys closer to the cross. My oldest son was saved and baptized 2 years ago 🙌🏼 God is so good and will help you endure the hard days!

This podcast and the one where Demi-Leigh is speaking at the Lo Sister conference are to podcast that have given some of the best advice for single people. I’ve been single for my entire life which is 26 years. It’s been one of my biggest struggles in life and I’ve fought god on it day in and day out. God has put your podcast in my life and it has opened my eyes to something I was blind to. God is enough and always will be. He has a plan for me and it’s time to stop fighting and let god takeover from here. Thank you for your words of wisdom.

@@ahsokatano4908Matthew chapter 7 is a great chapter to read. It will answer your question here. God is our Heavenly Father. He knows our wants and desires and like a good father (the Bible even says bad men give good gifts to their children) he wants us to be fulfilled. If this man has sought God and even wrestled with Him, God is faithful and if we keep knocking and keep asking, God heard us.

Man. John was so right about the sexuual freedom. It's an gift from God that we use to abuse it. And you wonder why we have divorce or even cheating. God hates that. I know God has the right person for us guys, but we continue to develop our relationship with God than an girl. Thank you John and Korey!

I feel a need to point out to you that not all single Christians that have been praying for DECADES for a Godly spouse are “walking in disobedience”. Some of us have been walking in obedience, serving loyally, & praying for a Godly spouse for DECADES, all to no avail.

And God and His grace and wisdom ended up really using it to speak a lot of wisdom into my life and things that I needed to hear. That was really awesome. P.S. Me and Jen are both single. Could be a coincidence, but it might not be 🤣 ok now I'm done lol

The more we seek after and truly love Jesus with all our hearts, souls, and minds, the things of the world become undesirable . It loses its pull on us. The worldly and fleshly stuff becomes disgusting. Yes, we need the good solid gospel, no watered down stuff.
