I remember being in junior high/ high school when I went to a mother daughter conference and for King and Country was there. That conference was a huge turning point in my confidence and even just my faith journey in general. I will always be thankful for my mom being intentional with our time together and consistently trying to help me grow in love for the Lord. Now I am a mom and I have the opportunity to take the things my mom taught me and showed me and i am able to do the same for my daughter. Our family is and always will be our first ministry. I absolutely loved the idea of a life journal for my daughter and will be going after work today to pick one up and start that, I loved how sentimental that is.

Without even watching the episode yet, as a 36 year old that recently had my dad say he was sorry for some things that happen when I was a child, to yesterday watching my husband call our 13 and 12 year old daughters back out from getting ready for bed to say he was sorry for something and then play a card game with them to continue conversation and restoring relationship. It is incredibly powerful.

I think the hardest part of watching the movie and this podcast is that I can really understand what they went through cause my parents and siblings and I are going through something so similar not knowing where the rent money is gonna come from so I know how hard it can be😔 you've really encouraged me!

I was raised by Jewish parents who might have accepted Jesus just before they passed away. My parents were protective of me because of my limitations/ challenges. I could talk to my mom about most anything, accept Jesus. If I said anything about church her response was, “That’s your thing.” She was afraid of me joining a cult, maybe because of the Jim Jones incident in the 1978.

I was completely undone.Blessings and love to all the family❤️❤️ For a Dad to say sorry to his kids is unfortunately rare. But it’s so powerful and releases God to work through those words empowers the family to move forward and draw on what God has for them together each one of the family had a part to play. There are so many pivotal moments in the movie. Brilliant movie a must to watch you will not be disappointed only moved and changed and encouraged.❤️❤️

Saw the movie. Enjoyed it. Loved seeing Stryper and Eddie Degarmo portrayed - a couple of my heroes. Not sure what the dad had to apologize for. OK, so he was depressed because he was having a hard time finding a job. Men have a God-given desire to provide for their families, and so it would totally makes sense that he would feel inadequate for not being able to provide. In the movie, the father was sort of villainized, while the mother was held up as the savior of all things and the hero of the movie. That’s the way it tends to go in our culture. Husbands and fathers are minimized and expendable, while women can do no wrong.
@TeresaCarrico-et8mu8 ай бұрын
He needed to apologize for how he exploded his emotional turmoil towards his daughter. I do not think he was villianized. I think he was trying his best to do what needed to be done, but he did not feel as though he should unload his fears and anxiety onto anyone...even with his dad he still kept his simmering stuff down. When his dad died you could see he could not hear what his wife was telling him and it was part of his grief process. I think it still needs to be said that men talking out emotions and showing vulnerability should not be frowned upon and made to feel less of a man for doing so...he needed a friend he could seriously talk to and trust, but instead chose to keep his pride instead of accepting the grace that was shown by the new community he was surrounded by. He let it all boil til kaboom and hurt his daughter. Not sure why you think his reaction needed no apology. Sometimes being humble and reaching out and accepting help is manly as it helps avoid saying hurtful things to those you love the most.

Has your child had the surgery for Kidney reflux? It’s called Kidney deflux. I had two out of 3 daughters who had this condition. It was fairly easy as long as the condition isn’t too advanced. I’m from Dallas area, but I’m sure you have dr’s in your area who could correct the problem.
