Of Course Jesus’ status as the “one mediator” does not mean he is the only one with a role between God and men. Paul’s apostleship meant he had such a role, and he appealed to his apostleship in the same passage he refers to Jesus as the one Mediator (1 Tim. 2:7). Other ministers have similar roles (2 Cor. 5:20; cf. 1 Thess. 5:12, Heb. 13:17), as do all Christians (2 Cor. 3:2-3; 1 Pet. 3:15). Sheesh! how would you know that Catholics do not have proper devotion to God inside of them? God knows the heart. This trial btw is for a moment; security in the Truth, faithfulness in Christ, these are forever.

No. That is NOT what Our Lady actually said at La Salette or anywhere else and the "hidden/unrevealed" 3rd secret is a scandalous fake story that has been debunked but gives too much titillation (and profit for many) to the gullible. I've seen the last interview by the blessed nun who wouldn't be a reliable source if she lied/ gave false witness, and she was absolutely clear and good humoured about the fake stories. I attend N.O. Mass. I haven't attended Latin Mass in many years. In my view, it is WRONG and EVIL to suppress/ban Latin Mass. Who, but satan, would want to prevent/stop the celebration of Holy Mass???? It hurts and truly saddens me, because those who worship at Latin Mass, are our brothers and sisters in the mystical Body of Christ. When one member suffers, we all suffer. I could give several examples, for example the consoling sisters of the sacred heart in Narni, Italy under the SSPX were given the permit by the diocese. Also Marriages and Confessions have clearly been acknowledged since 2016. Unfortunately Rome have rejected rejection to give a canonical status to the SSPX as an organization because of some doctrinal differences on the hermeneutics of Vatican II, which was a pastoral council and the issues discussed are not infallible nor in the tradition of the church. It is the novelties that the SSPX rejected after V II.

@@karlheven8328 I used to be sspx. Their whole mission is to be outside of Rome and do what they view as 'tradition'. As Pope St. Paul VI said there is no tradition outside the Church. They are stuck in 1965. Most of their young people leave bc it's too strict. It's a dead movement with no future. Lots of their priests leave. I know all about this from experience.

I converted last year from Protestantism and have been in contact with SSPX pretty early on. Their position makes intuitively sense to me as here in Germany the seminaries are almost empty (about 35 new priests last year only). And I also have studied Vatican II quite closely now, seeing the problems of implementation stemming from false ecumenism particular (I felt this strongly as an ex protestant)

This is Traditionis Custodes put into practice. We, poor souls, who are as piously devoted to the Old Order rites of the (now Latin-less) Latin Rite as were our parents, grandparents, great-grand .. etc .. forefathers cannot say we were not adequately warned .. only that we did not prepare. It was made clear that the Old Order use is not part of the New Order provision, and must be separate from it (as per order = 1971-1988 CE). The Old Order does not subsist within the New, nor does the New consist of the Old; that Old Order persists in the New Order only by way of the New rites; so the New must not mix with the Old .. even by way of 'continuity' hermeneutical ideas. If we want, seek, request, or provide the Old Order rites and rituals these must not be confused or conflated with the New Order use. Why this is a surprise or considered shocking is beyond me, the hermeneutic of continuity option was removed, officially and with full authority; the Old Order must have or develop new ways, means, and opportunities to express its pious devotion, within the restored 'new' old legislation and mood; moreover, contrary to papal imagination we are not stuck in AD 1965 or 1971 CE, we - if no others - must prepare for the future (without forgetting the past). Please understand that this sadness is also due to the cowardice of the bishop. The bishops could have permitted the TLM to be celebrated by looking the other way. In my own diocese TC has not been rigorously enforced. I suspect the bishop stupidly asked Rome what he should do.

Robert I really appreciate your commentary and I would consider myself someone who is fulfilled and drawn into deeper communion with our Lord through the old Rite of the liturgy I would even consider myself a traditionalist in many senses but I am continually disgusted and alienated from traditionalists online when I see how many people come into comment sections discussing these topics and frankly sound like Protestants saying awful things about our Holy Father the Vicar of our Lord Jesus Christ on earth. Let us pray for them, and for everyone in the hierarchy. This pilgrimage is something I would loved to have attended one day, may the Lord work this all out in his due time.

But I think in general people need to be much more respectful in the way they talk about him, and do everything in their power to understand recent magisterial documents in light of tradition.

Robert, it’s not the Pope that is splitting the Church. There exists a wide split in the Church concerning the Latin Mass. Traditionalists now have their own churches. Many don’t accept the teaching of Vatican II or the authority of the Supreme Pontiff. Some traditional Catholic groups have rallied around the idea that the Novus Ordo was sacrilegious and invalid and therefore Vatican II is not to be accepted. They believe the Tridentine Latin Mass is to be preserved at all costs, contrary to guidelines established by Pope Francis to curtail the Latin Mass and bridge this divide that is widening by the month. Some refuse to accept his authority and even believe him to be in apostasy. It is very simple, if you do not accept the teachings of the Second Vatican Council (Lumen Gentium) or, the authority of Pope Francis (Canon Law 751), you are in schism. You are not part of the Holy Catholic Church, the Church Jesus Christ founded.
