That's a good informative video.... but.... before any of the steps shown, it's also a good idea to check the tightness of the neck to body screws to ensure they haven't worked loose...because sometimes, they do..

3:47 Truss rods affects action at the middle part though. It can be used to adjust action at a limited capacity, too much bow and middle frets would have high action. Even your illustration shows it 4:01. You also mention it at 5:12.

Yes, as mentioned in the video the trussrod does indeed affect the intonation and action, but is not intended as a tool for action adjustment but only to counter for a back or front bow of the neck itself caused by either string tension (which can vary when e.g. switching to a different set of strings) or humidity and changes in temperature and climate over time. The shown graphic is marked as an *exaggerated schematic and only serves the purpose of illustrating the function but in reality the bow will/should never be as severe. Intonation and action should only be adjusted at the bridge and the nut. We hope this was helpful.

Unfortunately you're not talking about the A or D string when it comes to setting the height wirh the pickups. What should the height be? You mentioned the B, E and the G. you're skipping the other two regarding the height over the pick ups.

Hi there! It is important to understand that string action and pickup height need to be treated individually. The pickup-string distance values for the A and D strings are left out on purpose because the string action for all strings follows the radius of the fretboard in a slight arch anyway. So, when adjusting the pickups to the correct height for the E and G strings, the A and D strings will automatically sit at the correct height. Since most pickups are flat, they only allow for adjustment at the top and bottom strings. The only exception is a P-pickup, which allows for raising the pickups beneath the A and D strings, so they can be adjusted in a slight "roof" shape, but this will only be necessary if you feel your specific bass with a P-pickup is quieter on the A and D strings compared to the others. Yes, for string action it is correct to measure the distance between the bottom of the string and top of the 12th fret as described in the video. The values shown at 7:50 are indeed for the distance between string and 12th fret and not for string and pickup.

It looks like you are using the Dunlop 65 lemon oil to clean the neck. That bottle says ‘not recommended on maple necks’. I have a 2010 Metro w/maple neck, what is the best way to clean it? Cheers!

Hi Brett! The fingerboard of the bass used in the tutorial is made of morado. As said in the video, for laquered maple fretboards we recommend any light, non-oily, non-abrasive guitar polish or fingerboard cleaner. Sadly we can't make any brand specific recommendations, though. Hope this was heplful.

The Sadowsky Just-A-Nut III is a feature on all German made Sadowsky basses and is a direct result of the collaboration between Roger Sadowsky and Warwick who developed the original Just-A-Nut in the mid 80's.
