Taylor and I take on the iconic west side of the Furka Pass. We have a clean and blistering run down the main descent to Gletsch. On the second half to Obergoms we deal with some traffic but it's mostly smooth sailing down this epic road.

Whizzed past a grand opportunity there: turn left in Obergoms/Ulrichen (9:25) where the red train car is and take the Nufenen Pass ascent challenge🦵🦵🦵. Would have definitely hit 100kmh on the descent to Airolo.

Fantastic Descent, we didn't have many cars and the views are stunning if you look behind on your right shoulder in the middle straight part you can see the Rhonegletscher, the Gletcher that starts the Rhône-river! We did it until the Grimsel and went up there, so nice to see the rest of it!

It’s there as long You trust it’s there! 😄Was expecting 100km/h breakthrough too.. does’t matter because this was sooo awesome going! 🤩 You should go to Kühtai in Tirol and then down towards Kematen (Innsbruck) in Austria. My personal record is from that road (96km/h) and sure that You would go way over hundred! It’s a freaking crazy fast section!!

Ehh I disagree, why the hell is the bus taking up 2/3s of the road? Its way over the line and there's plenty of space in his lane to pass that car.

I have been in a similar situation but I had to no space and time to react onto suddenly stopped car so I went flying over the car. Luckily for me I sustained minor scratches and bike is also was relatively ok. It took me a month to recover. Turned out the grandpa driving the car didn't check for pedestrian and started to turn his old long car and then suddenly stopped.

@@MrKFess Apparently you don't know any mountain passes. The bus inevitably has to swerve to take the curve. The road line is solid when he overtakes. not to forget that there is another car in front of him. i also ride a road bike and i get upset about drivers. but you have to stick to traffic rules, which were not observed here.

The small tunnel with cobbes is very tricky. The first time i descended the furka it really made my heart beat faster (never try to overtake a car there 🥴)

Beautiful! I've done that descent before, but it probably took me twice as long 😅 The cobble section took me by surprise since it's in a tunnel. Can't imagine hitting that with 90. The town you end up in is called Oberwald and is located in the region of Goms more specifically Obergoms (the upper part of the Goms valley). Oberwald translates to 'upper forest' one of the many highly creative village names we have around here.

Effortless… I know it’s super dangerous what you do… I would never recommend it to anyone… But, f awesome to watch you do it. It’s clear that you ride with so much calculation, precision and understanding your ability, the bike and the pavement you ride on. True professional. Scott is lucky to have you as their ambassador. What you’ve done for Scott equals to what Sagan and Cancellara did for Specialized. It also helps that in all three cases the bike is phenomenal.

Had to reply on this comment, yes you might have control over the situation all the time. But taking over that car with bus just is gonna upset the driver of the car. He will be annoyed, and what would happen if he runs into the next cyclist who isn't in control of the situation and needs a little forgiveness from that car driver. What would happen then. And yes you are responsible for that moment too, with your actions. I love to descent, go fast and negligent certain rules as well, but my rule is while doing it not to bother other road users. Because you never know how they are gonna take it out on the next rider they run into.

@@nilspost he use to be a bike messenger, this is the most normal maneuver you can imagine in his world. I am sure he has done way, way more complicated maneuvering than this in his past. What he does is pure entertainment… he is not teaching anything. He just rode faster than world tour ridders, it’s f unbelievable, since you ride enjoy this it for what it is, entertainment by mad skill cyclist… I do agree and recommend anyone riding a bike to be extremely carful around cars. If I was in that position I would have stoped. Hope that clarifies.

@@bendardania Hai Ben, thank you for your response and your view on the situation with the car, it sure did clarify. I understand that he is in total control over this situation and I can see that what he did was totally save. I was trying to make the point that the person in the car was annoyed by that action (justifiable or not). And that that person might take that out on the next cyclist he/she/them crosses. It would a shame if @safa action would causes any harm to a fellow rider.

they're all great descents in The Alps.... My favourites was Petit Saint Bernard Pass and Cormet De Roseland.... (down into Bourg) - But I've not done a bad one in The Alps!!

If the bus would have continued he would have crashed his rear end into car because he's turning. So the car HAD to move anyways. Drivers sometimes take ages in those situations arguing who's gonna reverse

I'd always bet on the stupidity of other drivers than against and to me it looks like both, neither the bus nor the car hasn't fully stopped. There are a lot of car drivers who would have tried to pass the bus before realising, they can't. I just don't wanna encourage people to take unnecessary risks.
