Just purchased this exact holster for my G17. I was looking for a passive retention holster that was simple in design, well-made, and allowed clearance for my RMR, suppressor height sights, and threaded barrel with a comp. This fit the bill. Super slick design. The QLS system allows for quick detach from a battle belt and my Gray Man Tactical RMP in my "go" bag. Not exorbitantly expensive either.

Excellent video! Helped me answer the questions I had. Well made, clear, to the point and professionally made (no BS). Wish all videos here were like that. FIVE STARS! Thanks

They must have upgraded their screws. I have the same exact setup except I have a safariland 6337 holster. The screws on the holster are wide and are a lot bigger than what I’m looking at and don’t need any washers they fit perfect. Great video!

Love this system. One bonus I dig, I can leave my belt and drop as is and swap out holsters deepening on what gun I'd like to use / configuration. For comp I run without a light so I use my holster for that. For non comp, I throw the holster that fits the light back on and roll with that. I dig that you can swap them out without disturbing placement on the belt. I have a receiver on a typical belt attachment and paddle as well so I can swap them around. My only complaint is the extra 3/8" it pushes everything out. Not a big deal for comp but not ideal for a paddle if I was planning to conceal. I am thinking of using this for other bits I swap on and off my regularly to make it quick and easy.

isn't you belt run through the UBL wrong? Shouldn't it be behind the middle section and over the sides?

Good video thanks... and for the tip about using the #10 washers, I ordered the male fork for my Safariland holster and just want to thread it through my Molle battle belt. Might end up getting the female part if I just attach to my leather gun belt on occasion.
@MeisterSexy116 жыл бұрын
Well detailed video man. But I just ordered a QLS fork and it came with 6 Allen screws of 2 different lengths but nothing to thread the screws into on the other side. Is this how all forks come in or did I get a product with missing components?
@thelonestarpatriot6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, brother. That sounds right for the number of screws but typically I'll order the kit since there's a premium for the individual components. Just confirm the proper fit of the screw length to be sure there's minimal projection that doesn't cause interference.

I just bought one so that I can open carry but now that I'm looking at it in my hands I'm not sure if I should seems a little chunky😂 it is a very good quality holster though do you guys (people who open carry) go with or against this holster being used on a carry belt?

The Safariland QLS & MLS System is Easy for a Assailant to Grab with 2 Hands and Depress the Locking Hooks and Slide Off the Pistol. It needs a 3rd Concealed Center Lock Release.

Nice professional video. How did you mount the Safariland Mid Ride Universal Belt Loop to the battle belt? I can see a heavy strap but don't understand how that part works.
@thelonestarpatriot6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, brother! The Safariland UBL is mounted through a 1.5" riggers belt. Separate from that, I have a thigh strap from TRex-Arms that runs between the UBL and QLS receiving plate to assist with keeping the holster tight against the body.
@Overland_Vanlife5 жыл бұрын
JMel he actually mounted the UBL wrong.. The webbing goes behind the UBL not in front.. If you run it behind it helps retain the UBL in place better utilizing the hook and loop between the UBL center area

How did you keep the binding posts from making marks on your firearm? If they aren't planned for in the molding process, how can you add them later and not have them scrape the fire out of your firearm? Can we see the inside of the holster with this modification on it, please?
@thelonestarpatriot5 жыл бұрын
The holster was pre-punched from the manufacturer to accept various attachments and configurations so there are recesses on the inside for the posts. Most holster manufacturers are providing these now but presumably yours does not account for this.

So seven plus minutes of video and you never actually show the installation of the mounting plate to the belt or how to engauge/ disengage the holster from the mounting plate?
@thelonestarpatriot6 жыл бұрын
It's inherently obvious from the explanation and that wasn't the entire point of the video.
