Russia is the largest country in the world by area and having 11 time zones. Russia's Siberian region alone is 4 times larger than India by area and it covers around 77% of Russia's total land area. In the Siberian region, in the winter months min temp. dips to -40°C or even below and max temp. around -20°C only, rivers and lakes will be frozen with ice until April end. Ground will be covered with thick ice, visibility will be very low with snow and sky will be grey. Siberian region is very vast and temperature varies from places to places. But the daily life will be going on normal as the trains and busses will be running, people driving to their work place, children going to the schools, etc. Also Siberia is not poor, it has urban villages, towns and big cities. The real villages and towns are away from the railway lines. The original Trans-Siberian route is Moscow-Vladivostok (9300 km). Other two primary routes coinciding with Trans-Siberian Railway are Trans-Mangolian Railway and Trans-Manchurian Railway. In this trip Santosh sir is traveling partly on Trans-Siberian route and partly on Trans-Mangolian route. There are a lot of different trains in this route - from ordinary trains to the most luxurious trains and the rates may vary as per the selected route, ticket class, season, opted tour package etc etc

That's true and Siberian region is not poor. It has big cities and most of the Siberian villages are classified as urban villages. The real villages and settlements are away from the railway lines. Many people whom I know in Siberia has more than one house.
