First time removing wheel hex for Grumpy Noto. Yours was the first in line when I searched. Instantly reassured me to all the things I needed to do and very informative. Thank you.

Good tip Jeremy, 1 thing I would add is to check the face of your allen wrench (hex driver) before you use it, especially where things are VERY tight. All allen wrenches (hex drivers) show wear over a period of time and if you are really wrenching on one that is badly worn chances are good you will destroy the hex on both the driver and the screw. A few hits with a file or a belt sander to resquare face (the leading edge) to get rid of those worn rounded corners will do wonders for your drivers performance. This of course does NOT apply to ball drivers!

Right that's why I recommend mip drivers. I don't have issues with the mip divers

I like to see when someone does things right. Only suggestion is, I using a soldering iron to heat with. You can put heat directly to the sorse your heating. And with an adjustable iron, you can control how much heat you want and not to distemper other parts of the car. Thanks Have Fun

Dude thanks a million, I almost went out and bought the whole thing new and I did it all wrong but thankfully I didn’t strip it. But after 5 months of bot being able to change my hub I applied a flame 10-15 seca and boom it was out.

Thanks this helped. My stock Granite lost a rear tire. The only thing I can see wrong is a missing pin. The hexes stayed in the rim.

Someone from the factory who build my Typhon must love Loctite, I can't get it out, new tools so the head of the allen wrench is not rounded, got a good grip but it's freaking locked in there and I will risk of stripping the set screw.

The power from 6s is known for stripping wheel hexes and it will fall off the car

I use an exacto knife to scrap out the dirt, else its a sure strip.. both screw and hex driver. Same goes for any screws that sits under chassis. Blue thread lock will certainly keep the hex grub screw tight. This is a nice tool style to hold the axle when working on the screw: www.amainhobbies.com/hudy-1-8-offroad-flywheel-wheel-nut-multitool-hud182015/p146658
