They have regular and short sizes. Are you fatter and shorter than him? Taller and skinnier? Have you looked at their buying guide? Sizing chart?

@@shinobi-no-bueno I'm shorter than him but a little chubby in the stomach area. Last summer i bought a vest without the panels to test the fit and it felt too small and it was riding up quite a bit.

I really like this setup, the only thing I was concerned about is if it rides a little too low in the front, does it fit so that the plate insert will ride in the proper location compared to a traditional plate carrier

zmbisniper when you add plates to the carrier, it should fit perfectly centered on your chest

The subtitle says that you're going to talk about how the vest held up after 6 months but you didn't, you just described the vest and its features. I'm about your height and weight, got the large, it fit fine except that the back sides of the armholes stuck way out no matter how I adjusted things. Safe Life suggested an extra large instead, which seems counterintuitive, hope it fixes the problem. The sent me a return label, then sent the replacement, coming soon. Good customer service.

It’s better to put the steel plate Behind the soft armor because it can keep the bullet from ricochet into you or another officer

How durable are the velcro straps on the sides? If want to take everything off my duty belt and get it on my vest, will the straps hold while in a foot chase or trying to apprehend a suspect who is resisting?

The advertising for IIIA+ Side Armor Panels 6" x 8" is very misleading. I purchased 2 sets and all 4 panels measured 4"5/8 x 7"1/4. The weight on Safe Life Defense website says 0.5 pounds for a set. The actual weight is 13.1 ounces for cut down versions of what they advertise as there 15% more coverage.

the velcro on the vest sucks after 4 months it started to wearout so you will have to contact safelife or buy molle straps from amazon ant 12 bucks just to keep it wraped round the body
