Keep your eyes open, everywhere, for anything that will float. If your neighbor has a boat and they're at work when the waters come, then they won't be needing the boat, because they won't get home in time. If you're out, a dumpster. Unused pool or hottub or inflatable anything. Keep a go bag with some hunting and fishing gear, a small water filter, knife, pot, etc. Most things can be fabricated from natural resources, but a pot to cook or sterilize water is difficult to make. It does not even take the lack of electricity to bring this out in people. A Nike store in a shithole town is sufficient for "humanity" to threaten "humanity". The worst in people always comes out weather in crisis or not. On the flip side the best in people also comes out during crisis, but in a very different way than most people think. This country is full of people that "have it all figured out", "know what to do", "and are just fine". Until they get into traffic, or have to wait in line for something. Then it is a total meltdown. GET AS FAR AWAY FROM PEOPLE LIKE THIS AS YOU CAN!! Know people that have the same mindset, come to agreements with them, AND NEVER BREAK ANY OF THOSE AGREEMENTS! Many people think a fend for yourself only is the way to go. That automatically makes them a danger. A small "tribe" so to speak will be the best bet as long as everyone does their part. Contact with other TRUSTED tribes is also a good thing. At some point trade and other things can begin again, but until then PROTECT YOUR TRIBE AND TRIBE FRIENDS!! Good luck to you.

I also started to work with/on computers in the early '70s. I collect books and skills, and being an analyst/coder, I have a reason for doing all that. Some of my children still listen, but all of them have been taught basic survival skills. Fishing, camping, shooting, archery, woodwork, metalwork - plus they know where I keep my books & "tools". Ben has informed us about the magnetic shift for years. If you haven’t paid attention and started preparing for no power and severe climate change due to mother nature and father son, and not by fossil fuel use, which is stupid. How’s the time to buy, solar and all the equipment and just put it away and have on hand when you need it after the flip. When the AMOC grinds to a near halt, its going to get very cold in your part of the woods. This is already in play and will happen sooner than recent scientific research papers tend to estimate. I look back at 150 years ago, and it took roughly 3 weeks to cover it by wagon/foot. With a 10 year span of lights out to flood/flip - I'll have time to grow a garden for a year, gather everything up - maybe even use my mechanical knowledge and skills to get enough running that we'll not have to walk. Also, I'm getting old, but have a lot of younger friends and acquaintances, so we'll come as a group with a combined skillset to cover it. Man I love living in a small town of mostly good people.

Love your work Ben. Regarding Australia, I'd suggest the best place to be in the disaster scenario you are describing is Northern NSW. I have travelled and lived over all of Australia. Most of the country is relatively flat, this would allow for a huge tsunami to roll over the entire country easily with few remote locations high enough to hopefully be above the high tide line. The great dividing range has steep eastern cliffs with gentle sloping gradients westward. The waves are expected to initiate from the west, so will likely have lost their impetus by the time the reach the eastern states if they roll that far. The initial wave upon receding back westward would allow survivors to head west from the great divide to hopefully escape the slosh back. Good luck, be safe everyone!

My 2 cents worth: I know it's a bit of a ''head F###'' to get one's mind around which way the earth will be turning during the "90 degree flip". From what Ben has said, the earth will be moving southwards from his location, making the sea move northwards. In Australia the Earth will be moving northwards (because we're on the other side of the planet) heading towards and over the equator. Thus the sea will be moving southwards from Cairns towards Melbourne. In addition, because of the Earth's crust rotation inertia (remember the earth's core does not flip, only the crust), the flip will move more in a North-West direction - Thus making the sea come from the North-West from (say) Darwin towards Melbourne. Whether it's Broome towards Sydney (as you suggest) or Darwin towards Melbourne (as I suggest) depends on how fast the ''Flip'' will take once its initiated (due to the unlocking of the crust from the core). Nobody know how fast the flip will take but my gut suggests that this might be weeks or months rather than days because of the massive inertia of the crust's current movement. Moreover the slower the flip the lower the Tsunami. So my best guess is a Tsunami of about 700 m above sea level and coming from a Darwin towards Melbourne direction (note that the West Papua and Papua new Guinea Mountain ranges to the North of Australia will provide some shielding from the worst of the Tsunami. So your suggested location of Northern NSW is a good choice. BTW - saying a Tsunami is wrong - it will be more like a constant rise in sea level ..

Yes, vacuum tube solar cooker is ideal for difficult powerless times. GoSun Solar Ovens work even on cloudy, grey, rain, snow, skies, as long as you may cast a faint shadow, it will work! I recommend the GoSun Fusion as it pulls double duty, as an oven or water boiling “pot” with the tilt kit. It also cooks inside behind a window if there’s sunlight. I’m in the PNW Washington and these GoSun ovens work here, they also preformed well during our smoke filled skies from wild fires. Yes it takes a bit longer to cook, but it cooks without needing additional fuel. Fortress clothing is another investment as it keeps your body warm without additional heat sources. There's an old proverb i heard from my Irish MOL: that Irish sailors seldom learned how to swim, in case they ever fell overboard or experienced a sinking ship. Swimming only prolonged the agony of being stranded in the water, struggling 'til the last ounce of human will. The Good Lord determines if we shall sink or swim, in spite of our best earthly intentions. This makes me remember her words, bless her soul. But interesting to hear the perspective. We are such tiny, unimportant, inconsequential beings when the Titans of this planet and/or Mother Nature prepares to rumble.

@@sunmoonstars3879 I agree and I thank Ben for his perspective. Ben doesn't acknowledge Any of these things but they constantly affect our reality. I'm a prepper. I have land full of fuel and animals to harvest. I'm not about to run anywhere, not for eclipses or comets, for CME's or Carrington events, unless the Good Lord puts it upon my heart, which he hasn't. I've lived a long life and I've learned to trust the Good Lord, not 'the science.' Wisdom is learned from experience, not textbooks written by politically-controlled entities. Being a Christian, I believe death is to my 'meatsuit' whilst my soul is ready to go home, if the Good Lord has decided it is time. I give: I can't control everything and I've done what I can to help improve the outcome. And, personally, if Heaven is full of the godly all-knowing types we're forced to experience here on earth, I don't mind taking the long road home. I'm simply done.

From Spain: in all the areas you have painted in green (elevation wise), there are very old small villages where people was living without electricity with no problem. Summers are mild and winters are cold (but not the North America or Northern Europe colds…). There are lots of woods so fires are possible to cook and heat. There’s lots of water as well. Difficult to grow certain veggies if not in greenhouse, but others are grown in small areas here and there. So I would definitely expand that yellow circle. After the shift we will be in a tropical zone. Oh, there are plenty of caves to use in case we need to go underground for a while. All the areas appearing green in the map are right now little or very little populated. …Welcome into Spain…😅

I'm in Spain too, and lot's of that area marked on the map get pretty damned cold in winter, double digit below minus cold and the summers can get to scorchio hot levels. Also, lot's of water? err, yeah ok, where? that area is basically arid for most of the year with only one major river and a few lesser ones, fresh water will be a problem at least to begin with. I don't think it would be even close to as well resourced as you suggest, there are reasons why Spain's population is mostly coastal and Mesita Central, and even then Madrid is probably one of the weirdest placed major cities in Europe! Still, I guess we will probably be better off than the UK, Germany, Netherlands etc so there is that.
@isasala911110 ай бұрын
@@PolarRed I said it can get cold in the winter… but getting some days a year -5°C is bearable. I’m afraid we will need to get accustomed to living with less commodities than we live now… You will not be able to live in the pick of the mountain anyway… There are people living there… And NOW those areas are quite empty because in the current economy and way of living there are not great economical opportunities there, so those areas have become slowly and steady quite depopulated… which in the events we are planning is a must. But in the first hand of the the XX century, those villages were full of people and they were living there, so it’s possible to do it. There are plenty of water, yes. There are not big rivers, yes, but in the mountains (the place where we want to be…) there are MANY springs , more than enough for that small population. And in most of the area there are woods of different kinds. They are not woods like the sequoia national park…. But there are trees with woods to use. The current distribution of the population obeys to criteria that ARE NOT AT ALL the criteria we are considering for the future events. I suggest you go on the field, go out of the main roads, spend time there and check live the real situation. I think given the circumstances and considering the rest of Europe will be under water is an awesome place to try to grasp an opportunity to survive.

my ancestors have lived very north of the before line for at least 300 years before electricity. 40 years ago electric heaters were considered a treachery. most houses still sport a wood furnace. to make it through winter/cold season, one house must stock 10-11 short cord. one cord 16 inches wide X 4 foot high X 8 foot long. lotsa work with out gas although its possible to gasifyie evergreens with passive gasifier. i agree that 90% of population is not up to task.
