If the rest of Jamaica do the same, Jamaica would be even greater!
Rochielin, dat a sweet sop, not custard apple.. Other countries might call it custard apple but not in Jamaica. We call it Sweet Sop, the opposite of soursop. I need to talk to yuh grandmother. Love your content.

@KINGSTON STANDREW Mmm, you definitely don't know the parish. The honorable Paul Bogle is from St. Thomas. Bath fountain, several beaches, and majority of the blue Mountain is located in the parish. Few water falls are there as well. While the queen sanctioned the parish, because of paul Bogle, the parish is fruitful. Plenty ackee, breadfruit, pears, coconut, and many more things of interest could be found in the parish. So, in your speech, remember out of sight doesn't mean out of mind. You may not know, but several trucks with limestone could be seen making trips to other parishes. Not to mentioned, water is taken from St. Thomas to Kingston and St. Andrews. Remember always, His excellency did not fought for St. Thomas only but rather the entire country. St. Thomas is the life line to other parishes. What say of you and your parish?

I am from Portland, Jamaica, specifically Mount Pleasant District, St. Margrets Bay. Portland is vey beautiful and lush with greenery’s and rivers, however, don’t let its beauty fool you with its violent colonial past. Luckily, that past history has not inseminated itself into the present, unlike some other parishes in Jamaica, and we have been blessed with a modicum of safety.

Born and bred in Kingston and St. Andrew, that is the place I call home but it is the rural parish of Portland with its capital Port Antonio that I hope will be my final resting place. This is where I have instructed my family to spread my ashes. If Portland was a woman she would be my first and only love, it is the place where I am at peace as the stress of everyday life melts away. Nothing matters when I am in Portland, the world takes a back seat when I am in Portland.
