Considering that modern cars have even more safety advances , I believe drivers today are worse.

The safety “speed kills” brigade don’t seem to acknowledge that deaths were 2-3 times worse then despite traffic densities being so much lower and speeds lower.

Well for a start they didn't have seatbelts or airbags. They also weren't anywhere near as technically advanced safety wise compared to modern cars. So obviously road fatalities will be higher 80 years ago.

@@collinslfc In other words the driver and passengers were the 'crumple zones' . ;) My grandfather told me a story about the time he bought a 29 ford that had been in a fatal accident. the car was fine and only had a busted bumper. ( and some blood inside) .

A lot fewer cars around yet 7000 people a year died in road accidents in the 40s

Tons of automobiles, around 120 companies all that went out by 1930 to 35 (not the year but main companies) specifically. And this is 1934 not the 1940's you arrogant fool. And they were fast, don't seem to believe they only went what 25? The highway speed was 50, and this is clearly England so driving fast was never a priority unless you wanted a brick wall into your front.

@@WitchKing-Of-Angmar Why the sudden knee-jerk reaction to someone simply getting the years wrong? If theres anyone arrogant in this thread, its you for lashing out when there was no need for it.

I can see what the problem is! All these people are driving very old cars on the wrong side of the road. Why don’t they just get a new car and drive on the correct side of the road. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha😂🤣😂

Photography and driving demonstrations are top class. Very brave risk takers showing crappy driving that I see still today. Poor commentary sounds like a whingeing old woman. Needs a forceful Policeman's voice - someone with authority.
