I lived in Auckland 20 years and then returned to Johannesburg. Auckland weather used to drive me crazy at this time of year. I would be getting photos of family back home braaing in tshirts and shorts, while I was still struggling down Queen Street against the cold wind and rain, all wrapped up in winter woolies and jackets. Sometimes summer didn't actually arrive till after Christmas. Loved Auckland, but so glad to be back on the sunny Highveld.😂

Take a trip out East where I live! Howick has a nice village market on Saturday mornings. Take a drive out to Beachlands and Maraetai - Duder and Omana are lovely reserves to walk around.

I would highly recommend going to Red Beach and Sheep World with your parents. That will be a lovely day outing. We were there for 5 months and we love you posts. We can't wait to return to NZ. Can't wait to watch more of your great content as we really enjoy following your journey as we may start our move over from SA very soon.

Have you done the various Maunga around Auckland? One Tree hill, Mt Wellington, North Head? I guess One Tree Hill / Cornwall park has all the cafes etc but the others would be less busy

The Boks deserved the win so congrats! No need to feel like intruders, all of us came from other shores at some stage. My fave part of the video was when your fans sang the anthem! Great video!! Looks like Eden Park was still a good vibe even though the majority of people there would have been upset and disappointed with the result. If you guys see this can you help me with something? In 2011 I started a 'tradition' of buying the rugby jersey of the team that wins RWC. So I now have 2 x NZ and 2 x SA jerseys. Ive decided now it would be cool to work backwards and collect them all the way back to 1987. So if anyone you know has a 2007 Bok jersey they would be willing to sell for a good price im looking for one to get this started...

Good on Saffa...my flatmates from London days are stoked, AB's were awesome competing with the Boks with 14 men. So proud of my men, did not get the calls, Ouch that still HURTS but congrats Bokke...great team and worthy champions.

We like you guys were so nervously excited, but did not take long for that to change to abuse which shifted from Wayne Barnes (who has a long history with us) to the TMO who waas the real villian. Just imagine if we could have 15 v 15 all final...still would have been anyones game and just as nerve wracking for us all! 😭 Ours is the greatest rivalry in Rugby bar none, that's how it should be...so look out Bokke we out to catch you in 2027!

Shame…not only do I feel for your parents and the jet lag, also, New Zealand weather can be a huge shock if you are used to the sunny skies of S Africa. Agree that New Zealand cost of living is very high especially with the poor exchange rate vs the ZAR. Keep up your youthful energy. You seem like a very happy couple.
