Jzk. I have been always obese and a terrible relationship with food. After two kids (one with disabilities) and the pandemic and working full time and turning 33 I am now my heaviest. I am uncomfortable and for the first time in umrah I begged Allah for guidance. My relationship with food is slowly changing. Less processed food less food in general. Sunnah fasts. 14-16 hour fasts 5 days a week. Walking 7k-11k a day. I’m discouraged as a female it hasn’t helped much, lost 15lb since July only in 4 months. Praying for 50-80lb weight loss total I will continue to push myself more to be ready for hajj and to live longer for my kids if Allah wills 🤲🏽

15 lbs in 4 months is great! Keep it up don’t be discouraged. Actually losing weight too fast can be harmful, can cause you to get gallstones for example. Slow and steady wins the race :) Consistency is key. May Allah swt help us to take care of our health for His sake and may He help us to use our good health to do good deeds for His sake as well 🤲🏻

in my case, my unhealthy lifestyle led me to develop insulin resistance and pre-diabetes. (and many more issues) thanks to Allah, it got detected while still at pre-diabetes stage and is comparitively easily reversible. Insulin resistance is the root of all non-communicable diseases. (Almost all)

@no6614 (this is not medical advice) in my case, the nutritionist suggested to eat raw vegetables before grain, protein source typical proportion of a meal: 50% vegetables, 25% bread / rice / any grain, 25% protein source (meat / chicken / cottage chese / soya etc.) consulting a nutritionist is the best. and one should regularly monitor their fasting blood sugar, hba1c, cholesterol profile, thyroid profile etc.

I would add body weight squats to a pushup routine....Most people who don't exercise have a weak lower body and are not balanced which can lead to falls in the future....very underrated exercise Otherwise great advice JAK
