I was 13 in 1967, first outfit, nailed it. We wore shift dresses, poor boy sweaters and plaid skirts. Yes, we wore white lipstick and Capezio shoes. The maxi dress, or caftan, was typically worn by women for evening events. We teens stayed with the minis. Your hippie look is too nice and put together, they wore random pieces and were dirty. You did a great job!
@kimberlyhaines1076 жыл бұрын
My mom was graduating high school in LA in ‘67, but she didn’t seem to be wearing any of these styles in the pictures I’ve seen of her. Her wedding dress in ‘69 kind of makes me think that maxi dress. Though she just informed me that her dad did buy her mini-skirts occasionally but it wasn’t common for her to wear. She imparted on me more what were the rules from her school, and being very Catholic (though she didn’t go to Catholic school). She would tell me how all the way up through high school, they were told they couldn’t wear pants. Had to be a dress or skirt. Being a tomboy when I was younger, I would have HATED that.
@barbhayes56136 жыл бұрын
@@kimberlyhaines107 I graduated high school in 1974, so I wasn't much behind your mom. We were not allowed to wear pants in Junior High (through 8th grade) but by 1970 we could wear pants to high school. There were so many social changes in just those few years!

I think it would be really cool if you did a video dressing as fashion icons of different decades for a week
@sydneynostramo60507 жыл бұрын
Ying Zhao Yes she has but I’m talking about going more in depth talking about the specific iconic figures who have inspired the looks she has been creating. I’m also saying go for one specific person so for example instead of an outfit inspired by let’s say Marilyn Monroe she transforms herself into her with hair makeup clothing and personality. As she does this she tells her viewers about who they were and what they have done and educating people who may not know about these icons who have left an impact on fashion and style.

I hope that makes sense. Sorry if it doesn’t I tend to ramble on a lot😅

Ying Zhao no need to apologize! I just wanted to make my idea clear so people would understand it better. Also your English is perfect don’t worry hun❤️

Oh my... I was 14 in 1967 and begged my mum to shorten all my dresses to Mini length. I also have a photo of me outside our house in a psychedelic Paisley shift dress. I was the envy of my friends. In those days I could make a dress out of a yard of material (36"x 36") as I was only 5' tall (still am 😏) I didn't need much length. Thanks for the trip down memory lane 😘

Inês Santos yt Easy. Black leggings, a white off the shoulder crop top with some edgy words on it, hipster sunglasses, a high loose bun, some kind flat shoes or sandals, heavily caked on makeup. With of course the iconic thick brows, matte liquid lipstick, heavy countouring, and blinding cheekbone highlights. Top that off with a choker necklace and a coffee from Starbucks. Although this look has gone on for a couple of years now.
