BS6 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 Review: Sagar Sheldekar Official

One of the oldest motorcycle manufacturers, Husqvarna has finally hit the Indian shores, as an extension of the KTM- Bajaj alliance, with these two beauties, the Svartpilen and Vitpilen 250. Based heavily on their Austrian cousin, the KTM Duke 250, the twins stand out with their minimalist yet futurist styling and unlike anywhere in the world are priced Rs. 20,000 less here in India. But do they make a strong enough case to tempt the age 25+ motorcyclists that the brand is gunning for? Sarge hops on to find out.

That was an accurate af review. I bought the Vitpilen in June and everytime I go out with it people would stare at the it and some would even compliment. A guy on his RE continental GT once came up to my side and complimented the motorcycle. Some would even roll down their windows and ask which Motorcycle am I riding. But compliments on the looks aside this does have some vibration to it and makes it a lot more tiring than it should be. Mileage of around 31kmpl that I am getting now is okayish. Seat height is definitely high and me being 5.6" it was difficult to manage at the beginning but now I am used to it. The fans definitely kicks in early and helps in cooling the engine. Overall though I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend buying it if anyone is planning to.

I'm 5'10" and am looking for a daily commute to my college. Would you recommend the Svartpilen or the Vitpilen? (ps. I prefer the vitpilen but I'm scared of the posture for daily commuting)

@@VigneshV-lo6fi well it depends on the distance. I commute a total of around 20 kms daily on vitpilen and I didn't have any issues yet. But I feel if you have to travel 50kms daily then it might be an issue. Because in cities you constantly have to stop and go due to traffic signals so you will constantly be sitting up right and then bending again.

@@VigneshV-lo6fi Depends on how long you intend to use your bike. I own a svartpilen 250 that's good for urban exploration as well as offroading and touring. Vitpilen is for short distances. If you want to continue riding the husq after college, take it across India on highways and rough terrains, i would suggest Svartpilen

I agree with you Sarge. The Husqys do look like electric vehicles. I've seen a few on the road and up close in showrooms. They look a bit moped-ish to me, specially from the rear (grab-rail is the culprit) and also due to fact that it's not a neat bike. Wires not tucked in properly. I think this bike is only for new riders! 18-25. Love the factory location with machines in the background! Great video! Cheers!

I did not care about the lack of practicality....I was so inclined on buying the Svartpilen...but it has quality issues, mainly in the fit and finish and the overall built quality, the plastic panels have gap and a fair bit of play....there are squeaks here and there...and after riding the 250 Duke the quality issues were even more apparent...the Duke is built like a tank, stronger and thicker plastic panels, better tolerances and no suck squeaks....a metal tank, I feel it even has a stiffer frame although the construction might be the same...even the swing-arm flex is better....maybe tat's what justifies it's 20K premium over the Husky...after multiple back and forth test rides and being a pain in the butt for the sales executive for the showroom here in kolkata....I settled for the Duke....
