@PoppaCYS2 жыл бұрын
I'm not a fan of Sage Steele, but I never got the impression that she hates herself. I think she overvalues her whiteness and looks down upon black culture. She views herself as biracial and as different from being black. I don't think that's the same as hating oneself. She strikes me as incredibly prideful and self-confident. Also, her beliefs are likely reinforced in the circles she travels which further inflates her self-esteem. I also don't know if anyone is using her, she seems perfectly willing to push the conservative agenda. I found it interesting hearing Jemele's thoughts about her, and it validated some of the same thoughts I had about Sage Steele.
@gernblanston26522 жыл бұрын
@@PoppaCYS I think that she dislikes herself to some degree and you hit the nail on the head why. She views herself as biracial. Everybody else takes a look at her and sees a black lady. Seeing yourself as one thing but, the world seeing you as another must be frustrating. That's why I think she was so roundly criticized by her Obama comments. Obama is also biracial but, is dealing with reality where Steele is in her own little dream world.
@NeverDauntedRadioNetwork2 жыл бұрын
@@PoppaCYS This is the truth. We both went to IU. Sage Steele doesn't hate herself because she is not in any way defined by, or interested in blackness from a cultural standpoint. She was raised white and that is her comfort zone, and as much as I hate to say it, as someone who is biracial, she has that right to choose, however...don't burn bread on people who look like you but are not you.

@@NeverDauntedRadioNetwork The whole concept of "blackness" doesn't work because of this. It's not real, as it cannot be defined beyond superficial perceptions. You know, something that goes up and around your shoulder and straps around your waist. I work on a ranch and the hip options just get in the way of working like doing fence lines, and irrigation ditch work. When you are out on the ranch you are busy and you are not paying attention, yes we have real predators, puma, black bear, pesky coyotes, bobcats. I carry a 45 and I do keep an eye out but still, you get busy and need to focus on being safe with equipment, etc.
