It's a great video, with excellent editing, but I hope everyone knows that all vocals are unique, and shine brightest in their own lighting, meaning one setting doesn't fit all and the only way to get better is to just experiment. and me being a vocal engineer, I like to experiment on my freetime anyway. (I'm sure 95% of background vocals are processed through experimental means)

@troeteimarsch
@troeteimarsch 3 жыл бұрын
The problem with oversampling is the highcut at nyquist, which can really mess up the phase in the air (audible) region for 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz sampling rates. Most won't notice, all good, but it is nescessary to say that oversampling isn't the solution to everything. Using Analog Obsession Britpre (Neve 1073) gave me the best results. No oversampling, no phase crap, pleasent silky highs. [Ok you said crisp]. Despite that: great video! And most of the time Metaplugin really makes things better (yes, I'm pointing at you Waves! The dbx 160 is decent tho..)

Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! I use oversampling to remedy those phase issues, since it raises the nyquist cut you refer to. So if my session is 48kHz, and I use 2x oversampling, now my nyquist cutoff is at 48kHz instead of 24kHz. SageAudio.com
