I love sager. Bought a laptop few years ago with an i7 4710mq and a 2 gtx 970m’s and its still running strong like a champ. Grant it, can no longer run new games at ultra setting, but med to high is still viable. Really considering getting this one now

I bought this computer 4 months ago from you guys and do not regret a single dollar. Mine has the i9 9900k and RTX 2080. It does Maya, V-Ray rendering, other heavy 3D computer graphics with ease, and of course, gaming, gaming, and gaming. I kept everything at stock settings and when I do game for 4+ hours the keyboard gets slightly warm to the touch and the fans can move some serious heat out the back. Yes, it does thermal throttle and that's okay. When it comes to 3D rendering, the i9 9900k is more than enough. I've ran it once for 8 days straight at 100% CPU usage. System kept on going!! The laptop's design looks amazing. Slightly retro and bulky, yet concealable. It's no MSI or ROG. It doesn't have that flare. One thing that was a pleasant surprise: It fit in a generic $70 backpack from Walmart just perfectly.

If you are serious, get the MSI GT76 which poos all over this in noise, thermals, and performance results. It's not even *close*, same 9900K and 2080 inside.

Those temps are pretty cool for this set up. Then again what someone else pointed out is that comparable laptops have 2 power supplies for the 2080 at full 200W. What I don't get is how the Sager runs lower than 200w but gets the same power as the 2 power supplies but with 100 less W. My first thought is those other laptops are overclocking their 2080. So basically the Sager has a non overclocked 2080 which is fine by me all it does is create heat

how come theres never an option with laptops to get better PSU bricks? 340w seems really low for a gaming rig in my mind but i might just be comparing to desktops

All these off-brands (Sager, Digital Storm, Metabox, etc) are simply knock-off laptops. The hardware is there, but the laptop makers cut too many corners to cut prices. Just get a reputable brand such as MSI or Asus and call it a day. I bought a Digital Storm Avon 17 laptop and it arrived defective. I sent it back for replacement. Digital Storm took over a month for the exchange. The exchange laptop was ALSO defective (dead USB port). I decided to return it and now looking for a laptop again. Probably gonna go with MSI GE65 Raider-051. Rule of thumb: if the price is too good to be true, it probably is..

@@soulvacaine I guess the youtube tech channels who point out Sager / Clevo cut corners to lower prices must be wrong. They do say the laptop is good value, but noone says "high quality".

@@soulvacaine Yes it is. Max-Q series is for people who MUST have a thin / easy to carry / light-weight laptop with acceptable gaming power.

I have had my Sager NP8760 for 11 years now and it has been the most reliable and solid laptop I have ever seen. I am also an expert in the repair industry, I know quality. The only better overall brand out there is Alienware and possibly Razer Blade for gaming laptops. Sager is always a solid choice when size isn't a factor and they have the best temps to show for that thickness. Probably something you weren't aware of, Alienware used to contract their laptops through them before they were bought out by Dell.

equilibrium1736 Everyone online is an expert. I’m also an expert. In the past 6 months I sampled Digital Storm, HP, and Asus gaming laptop. They are all severely overpriced. The RTX naming convention is used but comparing RTX desktop vs RTX laptop, the laptop is a lagging behind as far as gaming performance goes. I decided to keep the Asus ROG Astrix Scar III but it’s also severely overpriced. CPU throttling is there. CPU won’t go passed 4.1 GHz tho it’s advertised as 4.6 GHz. I even had the icy diamond and therms pads added but still gets toasty
