Tom Saguto, PGA member and founder of SagutoGolf shows you how you can create a perfect backswing with 2 easy swing keys that don't require much thinking to execute.
SUBSCRIBE LINK: www.youtube.com...
I am Tom Saguto, PGA Member and founder of SagutoGolf. Thank you for visiting my instructional page where you can find how to get on the fast track to improving your golfing abilities. Whether you are a seasoned golfing veteran looking for a quick swing tune-up after an on-course emergency, or a beginner just looking to get the most out of your golfing experience, I am here to help you achieve your golfing goals.
My mission as your swing doctor is simple, to help you maximize your enjoyment in game of golf. Because, let’s face it, golf is a hard game.
My philosophy is wholly based on the student having a fun, meaningful experience in a frustrating and complicated game where potential lifelong golfers either quit because it is too difficult or that they experience some form of swing-related pain or discomfort. I mitigate these problems by focusing entirely on the student’s needs and goals while teaching a golf swing method that ultimately takes stress off of the common pain areas of the swing.

Tom, I have watched literally 100's of your videos. Obsessed with your instruction but this video is probably the most informative on the first part of the backswing and the missing link to generating the crispy contact that you continually demonstrate. Thanks for sharing.

I sincerely appreciate your kind words regarding this backswing video from my channel's archives, Robert, and I'm very glad to know that my instruction content and teaching style in general are resonating with you!! Thanks so much for your message and ongoing support, and keep up the great work!! Tom PS: By the way, if you've not already joined, have you considered enrolling in the online school and taking your learning - and your game - to the next level? It will make for a far more efficient, superior, and enjoyable learning process rather than haphazardly trying to piece things together through these channel videos that jump around randomly from topic to topic. The school is where - in addition to detailed lessons and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish - you'll find diagnostic tools for identifying/resolving swing and ball flight issues when they arise, plus advanced level instruction, and much more. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. At just $14.99/month or $149.99 per year the value in terms of what you get for that price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet. And if you'd like to first "dip a toe in the water" prior to diving into the school, then here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ That is where you can learn some key aspects of the swing system I teach in a more structured manner.

I have to say that this could be your best kept secret video. That right arm rotation is a mystery to most, myself included. These 2 steps is really all you need in the backswing because the arms rotate the body and puts you in the right positions without thinking about anything else. I found when I focus on just turning the shoulders it becomes my primary thought and I lose control of where my arms and club head is and over rotate my shoulders back through. I would add as a part 2 to do the baseball drill where you swing a bat around your body and see how the right arm rotates, then lower it as if the ball was on the ground. I love how you are keeping it simple, great job with this channel!

your lessons are so simple and effective. I been doing you this idea you gave me keep arms in next to your body and IT DOES HELP. Helps with my consistency and power! however, you were also right, that it would take practice until it feels normal. I need to do more for it to be 100% natural. I am too much arms now. Thanks for making golf simple and fun!

Absolutely love the simplicity of the the method. In your instruction there are fewer things to coordinate and time during the swing. Incredibly important to keep the arms and body connected to consistency and for power. Now my arms and body work in unison on the downswing rather than trying to fire my hips as the arms trail which leads to all kinds of inconsistent shots. Not only am I hitting it 10% farther but also much higher and straighter. My only flaw now is getting to quick in my transition which happens when I am under pressure. Any tips on that?
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 3 жыл бұрын
I'm very glad to learn of your fantastic improvements, @davidian1778 - sounds like you've done an exceptional job incorporating the instruction into your swing!! As for getting too quick when the heat is on, over time as you become increasingly comfortable with your swing this may have a tendency to resolve itself - oftentimes this is the case. Beyond that, this is something that we really need to take personal ownership of since it is essentially a mental trigger mechanism. Examples might be a slight pause at the top like Matsuyama, an internal "a one and a two" metronome, a rhythmic two- or three-word phrase, even a song running through your head that serves up the proper tempo to match your swing. I hope this helps! Thanks for your comments and keep up the great work! Tom

Great video will be implementing this . Checking these exact angles of the body and iron club in the mirror is a good idea , I recon I’m onto the correct way of things of how this god given is supposed to be played , this whole stack n tilt has a lot of logic to it . This whole weight shift is a headache and miss leading that’s where I and the masses are going whole , , Ali if the percentages of a dynamic manoeuvre weather the good swing or a kick of a ball , I play football that’s my game but to do that successfully with control your weight is atleast 70 percent or even 95 percent on the non kicking foot 🦶 Generally I couldn’t agree more was listening to you on another video all this sitting on a toilet wth bum out very uncomfortable with unnatural back while taking a swing is totally ridiculous . I was never comfortable with that and the myth of the weight shift . The coaches that say about the weight are messing peeps up the weight shift is natural because your standing up , doesn’t necessarily have to be said to anyone at this beginners amateur rookie stage of proceedings 👌👍🙏

Hi Lee, I appreciate your comments! Unfortunately, such sorcery from this dark underworld of golf instruction rarely finds its way to the mainstream because if too many folks found out about it the mainstream would then be rendered irrelevant....... 😎 So yes - we can either simply put the already existing natural laws to work for us, or we can twist, morph, torque, contrive, and otherwise mess with the principles of physics and geometry in an effort to better suit some ill-conceived whims, all the while recognizing that at the point of impact those pre-existing laws are going to be the only things that matter to the ball! And I definitely like your football reference. In fact, it is something I have used many times. The combined hands-in/weight-forward components enables you to create and access the tremendous stored power source known as angular momentum. Remember back in the day when nearly every football kicker used to approach the ball straight on? (I don't, but my dad tells me about it...) They don't do that anymore, and it's not because they're all converted soccer players. It's been proven through physics and geometry that the angular approach produces far greater force, and as a result in the modern game field goals of 50+ yards are routine now. By the way, since you're liking my channel's content, I thought you might enjoy my FREE mini-course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”. Hi Tom, if I tilt, turn, and extend, do I need to worry about my forearm rotation? That is, if the top of my backswing looks like address, do I have to think about this?
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf Жыл бұрын
Ideally I'd prefer that you don't have any contrived manipulations, Dennis, although this might be necessary for some golfers until a motion or position is ingrained. So, if you're getting to a good position at the top by simply executing the motions, then there's no need to think about forearm rotation. Just keep up the great work and let your ball striking and shot shape be your guide!! Tom

I feel like I start all neutral in backswing but when coming down it turns into a super strong set up with closed club head. Is my right hand supposed to feel the weight of the club like support. Or on the back of the top of the swing should it feel like a feather?
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf Жыл бұрын
Feeling the weight of the clubhead gives us acute awareness of the face and is an important component of being able to consistently achieve the desired lag in the downswing. If we can't feel it then we have to manufacture that lag or else risk a casting move from the top. TS

SagutoGolf I know you railed against a “level” shoulder angel, but unless your spine extends at the top, it’s very hard to get an adequate turn. That’s the purpose of reconnecting with lateral side bend watch any tour pro. Their spine at the top extends up then back to forward bend.
