Sahalie Falls & Koosah Falls | Snowy Family friendly hike | Willamette National Forest

The kids and I take a beautiful, icy stroll along the McKenzie River in the Willamette National Forest, Oregon. Visiting two beautiful waterfalls, including the very waterfall featured in the movie “Homeward Bound”.
It was a fun, slippery, family day to check out these beauties! If you’re planning to road trip or hike in the Willamette National Forest, don’t miss these easily accessible kid friendly waterfalls
Fun Facts about Sahalie Falls (pronounced “Sa- Hal- ee” forgive my mispronunciation)
1. Plunging 100 feet over a natural lava dam
2. Featured in the movie “Homeward Bound”, Sassy the Cat was only actually in the water 8 second and was attached to a harness
3. If you pay attention in the the movie, after Shadow the dog fails to save Sassy from the waterfall you see him walking along the bank with wet fur, then dry, then magically wet again.
