It's interesting a lot of you liked Sahara. I'm thinking maybe I'm too old for Sahara and that's why I didn't like it, but I have a hard time saying that because I've seen *great kids movies* recently. Sahara doesn't deserve to be called a good movie compared to those.

Crowne Prince No such thing as too old for a kids films xD and yes I will agree that there are way better films that came out recantly. My only problem with saying that the movie like this is bad is that it might put someone off watching it. Next time just say one man's trash is another's treasure 😂 The reason I even reacted to it is because if I listened to everyone before watching FMA and only watched brotherhood, I would have missed out on a bunch of stuff I enjoyed about the original series. I just want to say to everyone, try something out on your own before you have an opnion on it 😁

I hate snakes always being portrayed as evil with a passion. There really needs to be more "official" stuff that portrays snakes in a good light, instead of DeviantArt users and fanfic writers being left to fix it themselves. I also want to see humanoid snakes (i.e. ones with arms and/or legs like the Snake Men from He-Man) portrayed as heroic as that's practically unheard of!!

First half was quite nice because a movie can't be as slow as the book was, unless they planned a sequel--which they clearly didn't, seeing as they introduced Murtagh-father's castle at the end of the movie. That and they used the fight from book 3. That and I think the Alfakyn queen died I don't remember. So in a way they had to cobble everything together in this terrible mish-mash of concepts and scenes that were never meant to be near each other in the first place.

Fluffynator I watched the movie before I read the books and still didn't like it. It was so off topic with the books that the only real spoilers it could give is that their is a dragon and they go on a quest. The books were so amazing, I don't know how they managed to turn it into a piece of crap like that movie. Heck, there was a literal MOUNTAIN of characters missing from the movie.

Sahara is a good example of how not narrowing down your ideas for a story make it overal weaker in the narrative department. If they had just stuck with one or maybe two of these plot ideas (and were actually scientifically accurate in their depiction of snakes) it would have been a wayyy stronger movie

Am I the only one who geniuantly enjoyed this movie and would recommend it ??? Like, it's a fun movie to watch, I thought that the aim of it was clear. The two characters want the same thing, which is to escape the reality they live in and when they make that choice they bumb into someone like minded. And that makes the quest to reunite so worth while because they clearly connected in a way they want to explore further but are suddenly prevented from it. I'm not saying this is most top notch, most memorable story but I feel like putting it in a "BAD" category is a little harsh.

Funny, I just talked with my boyfriend about a more recent episode of "Adventure Time" titled "Bonnibel Bubblegum". Personally, I found the story pretty disappointing. It had a great set up but no interesting pay off. So, basically, in the original story: a girl lives alone with her mentally disabled brother. Because there is little to no contact with him, the girl feels lonely and dreams of having a 'normal' family. Since she's a scientific genius with questionable morals, the girl uses science in order to create/clone the said family: an uncle, and aunt and a cousin - all quite bright and perfectly normal. For a while everything goes well and the girl is happy but then the new family members become greedy. They want to do such evil things like own a property, sell marchandise and build a complex of apartments. So much evil, wow. The girls puts her foot down, in response to which the three relatives plan to pacify her. They want to change her in a new form, something more docile and agreeable. However, the plan backfires and they are pacified instead. And that's how I would tell the story: I would keep the beginning as it is. However, instead of the new relatives becoming greedy, I would have the girl realize that ever since she created the new family members, she was spending less and less time with her disabled brother, neglecting him. She then tries to introduce the brother to the activities the rest of the family is having but, due to the nature of his disability, it's not working (new people, places and situations cause him to panic). After this fiasco, the girl decides to sacrifice her happiness and return to tending to her brother as she used to. However, the uncle, the aunt and the cousin do not like that. They want to pacify the disabled brother, change him into something calmer, more docile, more agreeable and more normal. In their minds they will be doing everyone, including the brother, a favor. After all, his strangeness is breaking the family apart and causes the girl to loose out on the wonderful life she could be having. The girl finds out and tries to stop her relatives. The struggle results in the uncle, the aunt and the cousin accidentally getting pacified instead of the brother. I may be weird but I just find a story about a struggle of living with a severely disabled loved one and the need to balance the needs of such person with personal happiness to be way more powerful than yet another generic story about people turning evil for no reason because money.

I was forced to watch it by my second period class on the day of the eclipse this year. Barely anyone was there and the teacher gave up and let everyone chose what to watch. These people have horrible taste in music AND movies. One of my best friends sat next to me, and even though we may have slightly different movie tastes, he had my same reaction. Many songs felt forced (not to mention it also ruined Clint Eastwood by Gorillaz for the friend and I a bit) and most of the colors were an absolute eyesore. The jokes weren't very good. Any attempted adult humor was also forced and didn't even seem funny. I know that the monster-like creatures (I forgot their name and I seriously couldn't care less) are supposed to look ugly and different from the Trolls, but in some (most) ways, they were just horrible to look at. Not in the way they seemed to be going for, to me. You don't want to look at them. The Troll designs weren't too lovely to look at, either. Their personalities were obviously supposed to be very overly optimistic and bubbly, but it was a bit to overboard to me. I really felt connected with Branch until he went all soft and acted like the other Trolls. I didn't like these jolly eyesores either. The gross-out humor... Most of the humor was just having to do with bodily functions, and weren't even "OK". They were for five year olds. I'm sure any parents would hate to see this with their kids, because there is nothing here that anyone over six would enjoy. I wouldn't suggest Trolls to the few people who may read this.

Winding Wires I haven't seen Trolls and I never want to, but based on the trailer I predicted this: an overly happy troll and a moody one have to go on a journey together, and the happy troll learns that sometimes stuff doesn't go the way you planned even though you're optimistic and the moody troll learns to be happy and not sad, or something, right? Like from the trailer the movie seemed very predictable, especially that guitar joke. I was just like "he's going to throw it in the fire" and guess what?!?!?

Regarding the movie and thinking about it's story as I watched it At one point i was thinking they might let the green stoner dude end up with the bleu snake in a "the legend of korra" kinda of way (implied). I'm thinking this, because those two kinda get into that Frozen Kristof and Anna type adventure where they hate one another at the start. I know it sounds crazy but, I swear it felt like there where two ways it could to go when the stoner dude said: "i'm cold" ether, 'Get close to me for body warmth" or 'bury yourself in the sand'. I can totally see one of the writers having that on paper as a ballsy move but in the end they bailed on it causing the movie to be what it is now. Now i'm just imagining what the movie would have been like if the switched the girl with the stoner and he was the one kidnapped and she went with blue snake to save him. This movie fascinates me.
@CrownePrince
@CrownePrince 6 жыл бұрын
I felt like there was some attempt at "bromance" between the stoner and the blue snake too. Would've been more interesting to me than, y'know, the usual kids movie romance trope.

honestly i dont care how much of an ass gary is, his character had the most potential to grow as a character, picture gary who suffers from crippling loneliness lose of identity stoner who then sure-comes to suicidal thoughts and tries to drown himself in a whall Until he hears somebody call out for help and sees a snake struggling to stay above the water inside the whall and gary jumps down to save him and thee end up in the village where thee get captured by the humans who sell the snakes to this shaman's traveling snake dance show, the snake turns out to be a thief who got almost murdered by his band of thieves, thee bond, gary is forced to come out of his shell and overcome his addiction and falling in love with the thief

@@snbsixteen6stars201just watched the movie recently and this is everything I want it to be My boy Gary deserved better I think Eva’s and Gary’s characters could’ve worked if their family situation was a part of the plot. I mean, they clearly have horrible parents. We see them for like a couple minutes, and it’s literally: a daughter who desperately tries to run away, a son who’s high 24/7 and acts like nothing matters in life (I swear at some point he was just ready to die), and a mother who just sunbathes without even acknowledging her husband and daughter fighting like it doesn’t concern her. It could be a good plot point if Eva and Gary were that way because they lived in an awful household, and why they are so distant- that could explain the whole “Gary not caring about his sister” thing. Why would he care when they never were close to being with and nothing connects them? And Eva naively trying to run away with no plan would also make sense. And they could have such a better character development then what they got, both learning something while travelling away from the toxic place they lived in their entire lives. They could have a genuinely good bonding moment, where they both shared the trauma their parents put them through. It could’ve been actually interesting and their characters would make more sense, but the whole film just felt like they came up with decent ideas and then ruined them completely by trying to put in as many cheap cliches as possible

Actually, I remember two adult jokes from the film: The first when Ajar, Gary and Pitt are being persecuted by the bird police on another bird and said bird begins to fly upside down. Then Ajar shouts "Flip the bird!" as he turns him flying straight again. I found the other hilarious and even inappropriate for a kids' film. There's this scene where Ajar and the others find some tourists in the desert. A man starts, ehm..peeing right in front of them. When he had walked away, Gary asked Ajar: "You wanna see more of that, huh? Are you into this somehow?" 😂😂

Most recent bad movie I watched was "Home", and this is going to be difficult because there's almost nothing at all I liked about it. It ranged from "passable" to "terrible" in most metrics. The animation looked awful, I hated the characters and their designs, the story was completely uninteresting, with the "twist" being entirely predictable. The only thing I can think of that I liked was part of the premise: the idea of aliens coming by and sequestering humans in one part of the world, with one human being left behind. If I were in charge of rewriting the movie, I would start with that and throw out basically everything else. The human race is abducted, and one girl gets left behind. Unable to operate any technology without the rest of the human race, she finds herself scavenging while hiding from the aliens - not knowing what happened to the rest of the humans and fearing them dead.

Well it's not a movie, nor is it even an animation. But I read a manga (which I completely forgot the name too, sorry ^^) The plot itself was good; A young girl was separated from her childhood best friend and when they meet again in high school, they both fall in love but refuse to tell each other because it's forbidden by society and there own morals. To try and get over it, the guy mc goes out with the girl mc's best friend and basically ignores her, leaving her heart broken. That is when I decided I couldn't read anymore without throwing up in my mouth. why? THEY WERE SIBLINGS. INCEST. EEWW. I'm very close with my brothers so I feel personally insulted whenever a story turns it into a romance. The art was good, most of the characters were good, the plot was little all over the place but good none the less and they had to ruin it with incest?? If I made it, I would give the girl a little bit more confidence. Give both the characters some logic. And make them unrelated!

I *personally* don’t enjoy cliche movies, with an obvious plot where you can completely expect what will happen next, like the plot you described between choosing the heart wrenching choice between two lovers. It’s a good storyline, but not something that I would prefer, because it’s easily anticipated. I love stories where there’s a hint of confusion and surprise thrown in, not enough to throw you off the sled which leads to confusion and you really don’t know what’s happening, but enough to make you think. Just like Steven Universe. There were LOTS of things about Rose Quartz which didn’t make sense, but piece by piece, we found out the truth, and the story leading up to it wasn’t too complex, but enough to make you think. And that, in my opinion, makes a good story.
