I love how people are ranting: "I don't find this funny, so Lilly should change her writing staff!!!!" Did you ever stop to think that, if you don't find this funny, perhaps this show may not be targeted at you? There are plenty of different shows that cater to different audiences and different senses of humour, and that's a very good thing. I personally like her jokes and I like many of her monologues. We don't all have to like the same things and one show can't please everyone.

There's the rub. If she hires the 'good writers', there goes her claims to diversity because to do so she'll need to fire the bad ones (the diverse ones, is how it will be viewed), she'll be immediately declared a sell out and her 'brand' (built on diversity/difference) will be destroyed. The reality is, she built a brand based on a small core audience that depends on trendy/hot topic/divisive issues to stay relevant and turn a profit. Not a bad thing to do, nor would/am I knocking it and more power to her if it works, but now she wants to grow that audience/expand her brand (and again, her 'brand/humor' is based in difference/division/humor in rejecting/insulting others/other groups/etc),...and you can't simply 'expand' when your entire 'gig/humor/brand' centers around being offensive/insulting/rejecting even,...of vast swaths of the general populace. Her problems are much bigger than poorly writen jokes. Her 'strength' isn't in 'growing a fan base' and she doesn't have a warm/inviting/friendly demeanor to what will always be the largest share of a potential audience/populace directly due to insulting/berating/belittling/demonizing anyone who doesn't agree with her,....which in one category or another will be everyone sooner or alter.
