Great tour. Beautiful vessel. I enjoyed the detailed descriptions of things.

Great boat and it’s nice having a channel that looks at old boats now that Captain Q retired. But maybe go through the tour with the owner and then film the tour yourself. This video doesn’t need to be over 35 minutes

This big girl has a lot of of nice upgrades ! The engine room is outstanding , but the aft cabin and head is five star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ! ! I would definitely have it surveyed 👍

Love it! I just bought ‘72 Bristol 34 and can’t wait to take her to the Bahamas some day. She’s a little tight for her size but I love the styling of Bristols.

Yeah not a lot of room. No sugar scoop to help unload groceries from the tender. Always a trade off with boats. Not so practical But makes up for it in her looks. Hard to beat the look of a Bristol. Sails great as well.

Hi Michael , following you has been an eye opener. We are novice to S/V , and now we get to see you doing boat tours, and you did remarkably well! This is a beauty for the first! Would love for you to do a tour on our S:V sometime. She is currently in Chrisfield MD, Chesapeake Bay. Keep up both of your channels, look forward to more content❤

IMO a 40ft, 40+ year old sailboat is not worth $155k.

Depends on what you want to do with your boat. If blue water extended passage making is your stuff of dreams then this is good value .
@schroderingerscat2 ай бұрын
@@svsalserenity4375 ya no, he is right , not worth that much and as a blue water do you know how hard it is to get insurance on a boat that old which by the way you need to do any blue water sailing ?
@svsalserenity43752 ай бұрын
@ its not hard at all , I have my 1981 Bristol fully insured . Yes if you are not doing any long distance open ocean sailing you really don’t need a blue water boat .

This is a great video ! You should do boats that are not even for sale, just so people can get a look at different boats , and Im sure people would love to have you do a video of there boat. Dieter Empacher, was the main designer of the Bristol second generation boats . He mentored under Ted Hood and worked in his office , I met him once , he also designed a lot of boats for Kanter Yachts. Rudders are solid glass no foam core , and all the internals and rudder post are bronze, never get crevice corrosion as stainless does. Also they are semi balanced so it is much easer on an autopilot. Rudder post goes all the way to the deck which is what you want in a blue water boat. Orcas will have a tough time damaging this rudder. The hulls on these boat are hand laid solid laminate, with an average thickness of 1 inch and thicker at the keel area. The keel is poured in lead in two cavities on either side of the centerboard. the hull is incredibly strong , these boats do not suffer from blisters. The vessel is what you would call a stick built boat , there are no glued in liners to add support to the hull , they laminate all the bulkheads and furnishings directly to the hull to create a very strong end result , these boats don't flex! , just look at how tight the woodwork is the the fiberglass head liner. ! Decks are balsa cored and very well done with more of the same heavy layup. To build a boat to this high of a scantling number with a solid teak interior would be well north of 1.5 million US$ " IMO." Bristols are spectacular boats , If you ever get a chance to look at one you will understand what I mean.

Great info here! I agree. I need a well out fitted more capable yatch. My plan is to get one and do a circumnavigation. Its a great boat however I need a hull newer than 2010. Will I get one? Not sure. The asking price is high but the actual vessel value is also good. Will keep on uploading these videos. Doing another this thursday. Will try to look at as many as pissible and upload. Biat show also starts in January. Lots of content comming..

@@xenobot8794 Look forward to seeing your next video. As in boat show , you mean the Toronto boat show ? Not many sailboats there, it has turned into a cottage/power boat show. You need to go to the spring boat show in Annapolis, all used boats , many blue water boats.

BTW how can you do sailing boat blog and have not a clue about Bristol sailing yachts. Center cockpit are the queens of cruising vessels with usually an amazing aft cabin. Most comfortable for cruising.

Great video! We own a Bristol 35.5, presently anchored in Curacao after an Atlantic crossing from Brazil. In sum, Bristol makes the best sailing yachts on the planet. Don't buy another brand.

Owned and re-fitted her big sister the 45.5; great boat. Well designed and well built. The 41.1 is basically the same boat without a stahl shower and a bit easier to handle. 155 with the additional work is fair.

Quite familiar with these boats being here in Rhode Island. They’re still popular due to the quality of construction. The centerboards seem to be the common repair issue . Bear in mind that these guys closed up back in the eighties so there will be age related problems. Ted Hood specialized in heavy displacement boats. $150k for this? Get serious. This broker guy is clueless, huh. Could’ve done a little research.
