Nice videos. I'd like to comment on your constant LOA to LWL comparison. If the two lengths on the boat you're after is close, the longer LWL will make the boat act differently in the same sea state. While it is true that you probably don't want to pay for area not being used, who would, I would caution that a vertical bow will punch through the waves where as a traditional bow shape will ride up the approaching waves causing less water on the boat. Saying that, there will be less movement on a vertical bow and possibly higher speeds. Keep it up!

@@brownnoise357 it's legal here for medicinal and recreational purposes in my state and many others .. the problem they have with making it legal is the government still wants their tax dollars or income.. that's why the whole war on drugs was started here in America even though it's done nothing positive and only spent our tax dollars which should have been used for a better purpose.. it's nice where it's legal because you can go to the dispensary and get exactly what you need and use it as medicine.. you can get a certain strain that barely affects your mind but gives you this incredible body high where all your pain goes away and leaves you with this nice tingling feeling.. it's another reason why I gave up my cdl because the federal government hasn't legalized it and they're in control over commercial drivers licenses.. here in the midwest area hemp and Marijuana were just as big of a cash crop as corn if not bigger..you can use the plant completely for one thing or another..clothing, rope,medicinal etc. Even though Marijuana is illegal over where you are you should be able to order yourself some thc free 100% cbd oil which is legal almost anywhere and would more than likely really help with inflammation. I know cbd and edible thc helped my wife and mother battle cancer..my wife quit taking their oxytocin and gained weight..(this was before it was legalized a few years ago) the doctor asked how she was dealing with the pain and also gaining weight!! She replied that her husband aka me was bringing back medical Marijuana from California for her.. he said he couldn't tell her to quit taking it especially with such positive effects.

Great job Chris. I keep seeing that beautiful Amel 50 w/ctr cpit/protected helm in your video replays...I realize it's way more than your typical boat eval, but would love to hear your thoughts on this blue water/liveaboard brand and available models for 300k or less?.
@ChasingLatitudes3 жыл бұрын
I'm not a fan of amel or cc vessels based on my sailing needs but once you go above 250k or so there are so many vessels to choose from its mind blowing, a person really needs to figure out their want and needs in that budget beyond just the basics. I don't personally see a reason to go above 250k regardless of needs ass all that extra cash can be put into the vessel and really out fit it. I'd prefer a dual helm always and possibly a deck salon but at minimum dial helm always and enclose it with a hard top dodger /bimini

ELAN was founded just after war in Slovenia. From small motorboats to sailing vessels, they have built everything that could be sold in the Adriatic sea, even skis in the 80s. Look at the Croatian coast, these boats are very popular and dependable for Island hopping. They are very comfortable and good performing vessels especially at close reach.

What is your opinion of the 1982 Morgan out island 41? Also, according to insurance underwriters I’m not qualified for insurance because I do have experience sailing a vessel of that size. I have ASA qualifications on sailboats up to 20ft. A little information would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Joe

I'm seeing an average range of closer to $75-80K asking price.
