I got one of these Artem straps and they’re great. I hope this style gets more popular and we get more color options, I like them better than rubber and NATO straps most of the time.

Me too! Given all the varieties in NATOs and rubber straps I’m really curious to see what can be done with sailcloth straps as they gain popularity. Which color stitching did you opt for with your Artem strap? And what watch(es) do you pair it with?

What do you think of these Artem sailcloth straps? What's the best watch for a sailcloth strap? What sail cloth watch bands do you want to see in the future from Artem Straps? Let me know what you think in the comments section! Watch my review of the updated Artem Straps: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnithamqgsdksK8 Also, points to whoever counts how many times I say the phrase "distinct look" 😂 - evidently word choice wasn't on my side today

Another great video, thanks. Got these straps last week and they are stunning. High quality, great looks and comfort. Best after market sailcloth strap no question. They look great on all watches, expensive and affordable, I tried them on. The complaint I have is the holes distance, not great for that Goldilocks fit, and the last hole would not fit wrists smaller than 16.5cm. The length is superb though, no overhang. Also, on a side note, and this is common to most businesses from outside Europe, they should consider a European distributor, at least a parcel forwarder. I paid for tax and customs fee almost as much as for the strap. I get that the US is a large enough market for most businesses to thrive, but Strapcode does it so can Artem. I suggest saving on the excessive packaging.

Fair points, and I think as the company grows they'll be able to start addressing them. In my discussions with them they actually asked my wrist size before sending the straps to that tells met they're probably already conscious about the fit for smaller wrists so I wouldn't be surprised if they either move the holes or offer a smaller option. As for multiple distributors I would imagine that's on the horizon too, they're based in Australia so both distance and taxes would affect deliveries in some countries but again I think thats something that as the company continues to grow and awareness grows for them I'm sure they'll expand their operations too. Needless to say plenty to look forward to in the future :)

I’m leaning, harder now after seeing your video, at getting an Artem. I’d get the one with the black stitching. I’d never get contrast stitching. Just personal preference. Agree, they are unique and a nice sweet spot for a watch not on a bracelet. Prefer the the look over NATO, anything over NATO. and leather is too formal. Of course it’s all relative. I have two watches that can be worn when I dress up so I don’t NEED a leather strap even though I “like” the look of leather on some watches. To me it’s natural competitors are rubber and MN. And sinc you asked - I’d like to see an all gray one. I’d buy that one I. A heartbeat. To me gray is my favorite neutral color and makes virtually any color pop. If I get the black it will be to pair with a rare (for me) non-integrated bracelet watch - the Tsao Legacy in purple. My first micrbrand watch.
@ShahLusso
@ShahLusso 3 жыл бұрын
I normally quite like contrasting stitch but on this one, I just wasn't feeling the white stitch compared to the lesser contrast of the black/gray or the full-on black/black. Full gray one would be interesting too. And I just checked out that Tsao Legacy - definitely not enough purple dials in the world and a gray would help that color pop too.

Hi SL. Looks fantastic overall. How do you find the quick release spring bars? Are they well built and quality made in the same manner as the buckles? Thanks.
@ShahLusso
@ShahLusso 3 жыл бұрын
From what I can tell (they’re pretty well buried into the strap so I can’t really inspect them too much) I’d say they’re good quality - I’ve taken the strap on and off plenty of time since getting it and the springs seem just as tight as when they were new, haven’t suffered any springbar failures or noticed the button getting loose. It isn’t really finished like the buckle but there’s so little surface area there’s not much they could do to make it aesthetically any better. Overall I’d say just as solid as the rest of the hardware and the strap itself 👍🏼

quick release or standard? which is more secure or better?
@ShahLusso
@ShahLusso 3 жыл бұрын
Can’t speak on which is more secure as I haven’t had any springbar failure on either so I’m assuming they’re the same in terms of security. Though quick release leaves very little room for human error when installing so maybe by that logic it’s more secure. I’d say the choice between quick release or spring bar comes down to 1) how often you change your straps and 2) how good you are with a spring bar tool. I opted for quick release because I change straps pretty frequently and also prefer to avoid spring bar tools so for me QR all the way :)

@@ShahLusso thx brother! one last question- I was just at the Artem website and noticed they had fat bars? Why would I need them for my Omega Seamaster 300?
@ShahLusso
@ShahLusso 3 жыл бұрын
I don’t think so - for my Seamaster 300M I just used the standard quick release from the Artem straps. The Omega spring bars are a bit thicker than others - so if you’re not opting for the QR then you can just use the spring bars from your 300 without having to buy extra ones - that’s what I do when I put other straps on my SMP I use the OEM spring bars for straps that don’t have QR, Hope that helps :)

5:20 - who started rubber straps?
@ShahLusso
@ShahLusso 3 жыл бұрын
They first started appearing in the 50's & 60s - particularly tropic straps on early Blancpain Fifty Fathoms & Rolex Submariners, then 1980 Hublot brought them into the mainstream of luxury watches with the MdM Geneve Hublot (also first time precious metal was featured on a rubber strap) then in the 90s another resurgence with the Royal Oak Offshore, Patek Philippe Aquanaut & Ulysse Nardin Marine Diver. The Hublot Big Bang (2005) also reinforced Hublot's signature look of using rubber straps then Rolex was pretty late to the game in terms of bringing rubber straps back to their collection in 2015 with the Oysterflex.

The mispronounciation of Blancpain is astounding to me in this day and age. You can go online and learn how to pronounce it... Great vid otherwise...
@ShahLusso
@ShahLusso 3 жыл бұрын
I think i skipped the "c" on most if not all times i said it, and at least i didn't prounce it blan-k-payn. But yeah, sometimes my pronunciations can get a bit muddled - my native language is Spanish and I speak English, German and Italian so sometimes bending around to the French pronunciations can be challenging and my mind just defaults to how I'd pronounce it in other languages. Glad you liked the rest of the video though & thanks for watching :)
