Shes such a pretty boat cutting though the water. Or at rest. Wish I could afford her. What an amazing boat. Shes graceful and poised. A great combination. You should be proud to sail on a boat of that caliber.

Did current cut once, never again. Engines redlined to make a knot or two in transit. Always stopped at Port Royal. A lovely anchorage! Do not take the entrance to the right, The smaller marked entrance to the left is the one you want. A great stop after coming down from the Abacoes.

I thoroughly enjoyed your efforts looking astern from the bow pulpit. Watching Cloudy glide through the water is beautiful. That engine compartment is designed nicely so you can access what needs to be.

John, thanks for the comment. Fully agreed on the engine room. It was a big buying point for me. If you like the views from the bow, try watching the Antigua to Monserat, Dec'18. That was pretty dramatic sailing. And the video Bermuda to Antigua Dec'18 too.

I think I've already said it but you're braver than me going between those two rocks... bow thruster at the ready! Great boat maintenance, I think your channel is designed to make the rest of us feel guilty! Marina seemed expensive to me but worth it for the boat TLC. Enjoyable videos with plenty of boat bits, and, of course, sailing! Now, back to earth for me and on with a roof project, in between the showers and snow....

Good job guys that reverse water cleaning in your engines is that common because that’s the first time I have seen it done thanks for sharing Cheers
@SailCloudyBay4 жыл бұрын
Brad, I'm not sure if its common practice but its absolutely a "best practice". I do it once a year now. We previously had issues with reduced flow rate in both engines and particularly the generator that has quite thin cooling tubes around the generator coil. On this occasion, the flow through the raw water system doubled from beginning to end of the cleaning cycle. And, it has to be said that circulating the Rydlime like this is the only effective way. Just flushing it through the system once really does nothing.
@SailCloudyBay4 жыл бұрын
And just to add, when I put the impeller back in after the flushing, it looks like brand new inside - the brass looks like its been polished! Same inside the charge-air-cooler for the turbo on the volvo. its really quite remarkable

Would be interesting to know what the business model of these resorts is with no guests besides you two. :)
@SailCloudyBay4 жыл бұрын
steenkigerrider I would certainly like to know too. We though this would be high season. But clearly it’s not. They seem to live for Christmas holidays and other holidays when US are on school break. Otherwise occupancy always seems low. And I guess that why there room rates always seem very high.

Glenn, I´ve been meaning to ask a question of you. Is there a reason you wrap your stay sheets around the sail? Is it to add protection from the genny sheets when tacking or something else? Just curious. Thanks for your great vid.
@SailCloudyBay4 жыл бұрын
Phillip Corey no reason really other than to neatly stow them. We dont often use the staysail - only in winds consistently above 25-30kts. Basically less rope on the deck.

Curious about how you wander around these posh resorts. Pay a resort fee or 2 drink minimum? Or just stroll until you get unceremoniously ejected? Great vids. Keep it up.

Well, we just walk in! Most of the time. And generally we have a coffee of a drink. But sometimes none. Dont think we have ever been unceremoniously thrown out. If we did, we will be sure to get it on video :)
