Gday Wally, You have a great yacht for offshore passage making, fuller keel, protected rudder, sea kindly, well built when yacht were built to last a life time, that''s a comfortable cruiser. I have a 1974, 44ft Koopmans ketch built in Holland of 8mm Alloy, TinTin is a modified fin bolted on, also a skeg hung rudder. I call TinTin the axe because he chops thru big green water like an axe, not huge volume but fast for his age, TinTin is comfortable in a big sea way and I've been hoveto in more than one storm. When I found TinTin he was discarded and looked terrible as his owner had died but he had this spirit, it felt like he was working his mooring lines to escape the pen. We have done a lot of sea miles since I cut him out of that pen, cleaned him up and pointed his bow into big green swells of the Southern Ocean. My only advice go cruising and explore our world as soon as you can, life is short.
