Sailed in the inaugural Richards Bay to Durban race on a Red Amber, a M&W 35. 1976 when I was a student at Natal U. Bit of nostalgia! Richards Bay was very different then.

Out of all the ports on the South-African coast Richardsbay and its yacht club impressed us the most, we heard so many negative things, but its really gown and enjoyed our time there very much

My Uncle Stan Engblom used to keep his yacht "Shumbu" there, many good memories of sailing north from there
