Waarom ik alles in het Engels doe?
Omdat ik video's kijk van Fransen, Denen, Noren, Spanjaarden, Portugezen, Duitsers én heel veel Engelstaligen die allemaal Engels lullen en ook bootjesmensen / liveaboards zijn. Want alleen dan kan je je ervaring wereldwijd delen. En wat blijkt? Mijn video's worden in 127 landen bekeken (zie S03/E01 voor de lijst). Veel van mijn kijkers en abonnees zijn Engelstaligen die mijn video's helemaal top vinden, omdat ze óf familie hebben uit Nederland, of hier jaren geleden zijn geboren en door omstandigheden nu elders op de wereld wonen. En, dat ik dan Engels spreek met een accentje (net als de Fransen, Denen, Noren, Spanjaarden, Portugezen, Duitsers overigens) dan interesseert hen dat geen reet.
Het was op 23 juli 2022 een hele rustige dag in de Rotterdamse Haven. Even leek het er op dat heel veel binnenschippers een dagje vrij hadden genomen. Dat gaf mij mooi de kans om tijdens afgaand tij vanaf de stormvloedkering bij Krimpen aan den IJssel naar de Botlek te varen. En net op het moment dat het zelfs een beetje saai werd stond daar plots op een van de passagiersschepen iemand naar me te zwaaien. Dat bleek een oude bekende. Wat leuk om Roos spontaan tegen te komen. En, hoewel we al vaker de Rotterdamse haven op video hebben vastgelegd, was het ook deze keer weer leuk om er te zijn.
Weet je dat Nederlandse ondertiteling aan kan zetten? Doorgaans zo'n 4 uur nadat de video is gepubliceerd. Klik op de video, en kies uit de iconen die rechtsonder verschijnen dan voor [ondertiteling] en kies daar voor Nederlands. Dan wordt zelfs mijn steenkolen Engels (knap he van die jongens en meisjes KZbin) vertaald naar Nederlandsch.

Koffietijd is denk ik om 10 uur omdat vroeger de arbeiders om 10 uur pauze hadden om koffie te drinken. In mijn tijd als lasser op een scheepswerf was dat in ieder geval zo.

Haaaa ik zat er zo lekker in deze keer en toen was het al het einde van deze show. The Botlek has certainly changed since I used to Dock there in the 1960's with Iron Ore. from Narvik

@Sailing MV Lady Liselot the old bridge had just 2 lanes en 2 bicycle paths. And just 1 barrier. Half the town watched the 2nd slide being placed by 2 floating cranes in the 70s. After its opening in 1958, they knew it wasn't enough. Krimpen expanded including all other villages. Every attempt to get another bridge failed. Its an ongoing story there. The algerabridge reached its maximum capacity.

If you ever have the opportunity to ride with the Watertaxi, take the chance. It is so much fun. With the Watertaxi in the evening and with the "normal" tour boat for the long tour during the day. After that you got a small but very good impression of the different havens.

Well Frazel, when Inwas involved in businesses I had no coffee before 10:00. My stomach would hurt to much. But since I changed my lifestyle, I have no problem with that and can handle coffee at 08:00.
