I love the way that Malin is so open about seasickness. It can happen to us all. This year, on a short but very bumpy passage from Gilleleje to Höganäs, our puppy went below and started vomiting on the bunks. So I went to rescue him and ended up throwing up into the sink! Husband helmed us to safety, and Höganäs was a delight. For us, the first place ‘abroad’ in two years.

A beautiful passage to the four of you - RAN, mum and dad and little Vera. Soothing voices, silence, glassy waters, Lego, solid yacht, day and night, glowing red skies and night time watch. It's all so special. Vera is such a contented child - mummy and daddy 24/7 - she's very fortunate. It shows. Your cruising as a family is enchanting.

It’s not only Rotterdam, the second biggest port in Europe is Antwerp which is just south of Rotterdam so the traffic of these two ports getting together makes up crazy amount of traffic. Add Zeebrugge and Calais in da mix 🤷🏻‍♂️

When I was 10-12 years old, we lived in Foug, France. My father was in the Air Force and Charles de Gaulle closed the US military bases and we were transferred to Mildenhall, England. We cross on a ferry boat from Calais to Dover, I wasn’t used to the sea and did not like the movement, but later in life it wasn’t a problem. On a nice day you can see the white cliffs of Dover from Calais. Good man letting you get your sea legs and staying up all night, you looked very worn out, even though you slept….thank you sharing your adventure, Vera knows how to knock, knock, knock, how wonderful that she’s have these videos of her life.

We sailed down the same coast in 1966 in our new Tripp-Lentsch 29 heading for Le Havre. Thanks for the memories. We did it without weather info, except from the BBC every 6 hours. Watching Vera grow is sheer delight. Happy sailing

Did the channel in the early 70's & never saw another ship, one could just hear their horns threw the fog, which was thick. The old radar was picking up mostly fog until we got real close to see a blip. Glad Vera brought clear sailing.
