Paul, we have been listening to your podcast for a few months now. Yours' is definitely one of my top two favorites. I just found this KZbin channel after hearing your latest episode when you referred to the Whale Hole video. Your have an excellent podcast! Great voice, you have an awesome interview style of letting people tell their story and not interrupting but also occasional adding interesting info of your own. They are very informative and I love how you explain what, and how you do things on your boat and the reasons behind it. We are from Maine and plan to sail full time in 2 years. I hope to meet you in our travels.

Methinks the bath robe was very 'Captain Ron'ish. Love it! I'm living my sailing dreams vicariously through you and your books, good Sir. I thank you. Stay safe out there.

Beautiful American Redstart and Magnolia warblers looking for rest, caterpillars and fresh water. Keeping a small pack of frozen meal worms are superb substitute. Just drop a few for each bird in the water quickly to thaw, toss them on the boat cock pit area where the birds can easily find them and offer fresh water. Boats are oasis for the migrating song birds and offer a much need reprieve form their long migration routes south in fall - early winter and back north is spring. Stunning birds species visiting:) Jim Rodgers

Thanks for posting this! We are currently in Pensacola FL and planning to sail to Maine very soon so it was great to see how your journey went. My boyfriend/Captain is also sober -23 years! Here’s to Sober Sailors! A rare breed! I plan to watch more of your videos and read your books. Our vessel is SeaStar - a Beneteau 473. Hope to see you on the Seas

Nice to hear that you are sticking to the 20 minutes. Anything more means that solo sailors are not keeping a visual watch… And some KZbinrs are flat out saying that they sleep all night… Totally irresponsible. It takes me a couple days to get used to the 20 minutes but it’s doable.

I did St Augustine to Maine in about 8 days. I think I arrived on about May 23. Everyone told me I was early. It was still pretty cold and foggy, and it wasn't crowded yet. A month later, I was in Newfoundland, and about a week or two early for there. But the season is short up there. if you're going to Maine, keep Nova Scotia in mind. the lobster traps aren't bad there, and it's not at all crowded. The lobster traps in Maine are insane.

Does the bell on your arch serve a special purpose?

It just allows me to signal other boats. Usually I use it to say hello or goodbye to friends. But it could be an emergency collision avoidance signal.
