You should have cut bait the day you stepped on a sailboat!! Hahahaha!!! I am getting close to getting my power boat. Should be in July or so. Can wait to meet ya at LB for 5 min. Next time you see me will be at the Marina Bar. Hopefully you make it before they close!! Hahahah!!

how good are these island packet 27's? good for island hopping? i'm looking at one now, planning on doing bahama crossing. are parts easily available for them?

It's a great boat for island hopping and would be right at home doing the Bahamas. These boats are out of production (like most used boats you'll find). That's no concern as far as maintenance. I'd look at the engine and see if you can get parts for that--parts for the Yanmar 2GM20F that powered most of these are pretty accessible. I think the bigger question on the IP27 is whether a pocket cruiser suits your needs or not. Some folks want more space and opt for larger boats.
