I have a huge fear of being on a boat in the ocean, but Laura is literally the only person I would trust sailing with. Her Maiden Trip was absolutely incredible. Can hear the kiwi coming through more in her accent since then :)

Harnesses, tethers and jacklines. The harnesses can have automatic or manual inflatable flotation built in, but the real aim is to never fall overboard. Laura used them extensively on her solo circumnavigation. See the earlier boat tour video for a detailed description.

So happy to see the start of your first ever sail training course for for young teens. Hoping to see more of that enjoyable time. The start looked to be a bit rough but everyone looked to be happy. May "Neptune: continue to look upon GUPPY with benevolent kindness and bless your future trips with fair winds. Good luck Laura, and may all your dreams come true.

I watched every LD video on youtube and loved it very much. This one though, no. Half of it is simply some kids and young guys goofing around and having fun. Though not really interesting for me. I really do not like the video, though I won't give a "thumbs down" due to what she acomplished earlier.
@jiefflerenard12283 жыл бұрын
This video could have been amazing,the kids who are they, the boat ,a tour maybe? some navigation,who does what ? who is responsible?, the duties?.it is sad ,Video was never Laura strong asset but investors might want more exposure ?
@corvavw64472 жыл бұрын

too much posing for sailing, sorry, feel the real spirit girl!
@jiefflerenard12283 жыл бұрын
Considering Laura being a legend and the huge $$$ involved , such a poor documentation of the trip is a mystery to me. Horrible camera-audio work .Is it just about kids fooling around? What about navigation? Duties? Drills? Day-night watches? Who is in charge? How where the kids selected? Why a baby on board when millions of teens drool on such an adventure. Is there school and nav courses? What about the boat who is the captain ? Laura or the other guy?The foundation does not owe the viewers anything but having all the right cards can they really ignore the sizable KZbin $$$ that a well managed site brings in? Nice boat though!

Hi Jeff, We're actually a very low budget foundation trying to keep the costs of joining one of our programs as low as possible while maintaining a big vessel like this. My partner and run it and I make the video's myself in spare time..I know they aren't top notch ;) Being famous does not mean being rich and don't get me wrong I don't feel the need to be. I just want to life my life and at the end be able to say I have done my best to do something good in the world. I wish for our students to gain confidence, follow their dreams and realise being happy is about appreciating what you have and doing good in the world. They are involved in everything onboard from cooking too navigating and sailing. PS: the baby is mine ;)
