Just beginning this episode. On current. Pro Tip: often of an opposing current or tide, zig-zaging on a sharp angle will allow you to use the lift of the keel foils and help you move forward a little that your motors alone could not do. 😊

Thanks for the video. Interesting to see Whale Cut but I'm especially interested to see how much progress Hope Town has made. I'm not a cruiser but HT was one of my favorite places until Dorian and I miss it! Nice work!

You were right to be worried about a potential rage. I was in one back in about 1983 in that area . I remember that we came out of Man o war Cay but don't remember if we were on our way to Marsh Harbor or if we were headed back to Bimini at that point. We went through some very steep waves that we climbed up at about 45 degrees then fell off of and did damage to our 65-foot boat . I learned more about it 30 years later when I was on another boat with one of the six people on the boat that day. we went through the rage . He said he had never been through anything that bad since then either.. I have never been to Hope Town But was really pleased to see how good it was looking.

Anxiety is a big factor in sea sickness. It can be very subtle. My sailing mentor would always put people on the helm ( disconnect the auto pilot) if they felt sick. Get their mind concentrating on something else. Made them feel in control and learning as well.
@FolsomOceanViews

I do believe that anxiety is a big part of sea sickness! If nothing else, it can’t help the situation 🤣 Funny enough when we have guests on board and they get sea sick we put them at the helm if they start to feel sea sick! I have always found that it helps me as well 👍 Never knew that was an “approved” method. Very cool: thanks for sharing!

@@FolsomOceanViews This might sound harsh but Thank goodness you cannot run away from them like most people do and hide in the bushes. There are over 4,000 fears. I call it False.Evidence.Appearing.Real. However once you see the same boring fear pattern/pathway of thoughts. You can tell them thoughts to shut up and your not listening because your going to solve this. It us ok to cry while your going through this. I have been doing this for 10 years so be kind and gentle to yourself. I noticed in your home there was a bible Jesus taught all of his disciples not to fear and don’t be afraid 24/7. It took them 3 years for the penny to drop. Fear has torment you have overcome so much !

If you don't want your bridle hanging under the boat just make a double long leader line and tie it to the front cleats(or appropriate location) along with the anchor well when not in use. Then attach before bringing in the anchor. Then when you bring it up with the windlass just pull it back to the bow instead of hooking it in the chain well. Its probably just easier to let it hang though unless you are making a long crossing. Hope Town is a nice place, and a great place to use as a home base in the Abacos. Down South I like Georgetown. Phoenix is so cute, I think of the two dogs that is the one I am partial to the most. A mini Aussie huh....I might get one, but I have a problem with the name Phoenix...maybe it is a Harry Potter thing which I respect, but I had a girlfriend by that name and she was just tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo crazy.

@@FolsomOceanViews Yes Georgetown is cool. In the high season there can be 200 boats there sometimes. If you go to Nassau and the Atlantis waterpark, go to their Marina then the waterpark is free for any crew members. It is a good time to bring in family to meet you on the boat at that point. If you can get anyone in without a restriction.

OK you digital nomad job you show at the end seems to be what used to be described as colouring in. A great hit at Pre school. Now unless expectations in the workforce have significantly dropped which in todays culture may well be the case. I am going to guess that there is a lot more too it. Maybe an idea for a video or a series of videos about those people cruising and making a living digitally. I know you are indeed an attractive young lady but I think that you also have a functioning brain and your job is a lot more than colouring in. Of course if it is then I will immediately turn a nearby preschool into a sweat shop and return to the good old days of traditional values and get those 4 year olds doing 12 hour days :) Maybe even stuff them up a few chimney's and feed them gruel :) Seriously though I think such a series of videos would be of great interest and may boost you channel.

🤣 🎨 🤷‍♀️ I have always been a fan of working smarter rather than harder. All artwork is just a combination of sketching, coloring, and applying light and shadow. I get to work with the best clients in the world to create lasting keepsakes for Anniversaries, Weddings, and Holidays. Most of my clients cry when they receive their order! It’s the best job in the world, and the money is great! Beats the heck out of board meetings, quarterly KPI’s, and lobbying for headcount budget 🤣. Great idea on creating more content on working remotely! We will have some videos around that coming soon 👍

Before the hurricane Abaco had 4G cell service covering the entire area. Not sure what is there today.
@FolsomOceanViews

We both have cell plans through T-Mobile that each come with 15G international data/month. We use this as our emergency data (if/when local service provider goes down) When we got down here we picked up a mobile hotspot with a local provider (Aliv) and have unlimited data. Service ranges but we were getting 50G download in the Abacos and 20G down in Exumas. It's more than enough to get on a Zoom call or send large files, or upload vid's!

Enoying your videos! Thanks for posting. A few general questions if you don't mind. We just put a depoist down on a new Leopard 42. Will not pick up boat till Jan 2022 and plan to then go to Bahamas for a while. We have two dogs like you, but ours are bigger, golden doodles. How difficult was it to get them potty trained on the boat? I don't see you use artifical grass or a plant like we thought we would have to do. One of the reaons we choose the Leopard is the front access without walking around the sides of the boat, at sea our dogs would not like that at all. Besides getting more solar that we plan to do right away, anything else on your wish list you plan to add? We will be moving boat to where we live in the Pacific NW so need to prepare boat for more cold weather sailing after a few months in the Bahamas. How have you found preformance? I have owned a small sailboat in the past and a few motor boats while living in Tampa for some time but nothing like the size of the catamaran. Sailing I can do but certainly have concern about docking. manuvering boat around and anchoring and not slipping at night when tide changes. How long did it take you to feel comfortable with all these? My wife has never had a boat, I had mine pre "US" and only sailed recently so she could see what it is all about. It might be a one person show for the most part on saiing but how much prior boating experince did you guys have? We will not liveaboard year round but part of year.
