Those power boaters have no idea what they're missing. To travel somewhere under sail power is magical, satisfying, interesting. To travel on a power boat is boring, monotonous and tiring. Your videos are the best sailing videos on KZbin. If you had a drone they'd be absolutely perfect!

I agree, and you must be psychic. I always joked that when I run out of mast to climb it must be time for a drone. Watch this space...

Hi.. that's me.. I have a Westsail32 on blocks for the winter in NH. I plan to sail to the S pacific but am tied up here in the frozen tundra helping mom for now.. Seeing you criising on "my" boat while I drink hot tea to ward off a chill sent shivers up my spine!

Nice video! I totally relate about the motor boats showing up at the anchorage. Generators, sometimes loud music, television, blue light, etc. I don’t understand it either. Especially when all that room and they drop the hook 2 boat lengths away. Oh well, that’s part of the adventure and making memories I guess. Looks like wonderful sailing and thanks for sharing the adventure. Cheers mate!

Charming and beautiful couple. Ahoy, I have a W32 out here in the Pacific Northwest. Wanted to comment on the light air sailing. I have had similar experiences in very light winds. Exceptional sailing. I have heard many stories of where the bad rap comes from regarding these vessels but mine has sailed excellent thus far on all points except close hauled against current in crossed seas...lol. Fair winds and following seas from the PNW see you out there soon enough.
@littlewing.ws32 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing. I totally agree, close hauled against the current can be a mental challenge. :) That is the only time I ponder the virtues of a fin keel.

You two are having too much fun! Better watch out, Ben, she’s getting you organized!😂😂 Beautiful video and spectacular water. First time I’ve seen so many other boats..albeit power boats and cats... Holiday Weekend Warriors? Dominika, never heard a redhead complain about colors being too bright! 😂😂😂Your commentary has been a big add to the videos. No offense, Ben😂😂 Sent you an email with some teak info and photos. Cheers! And Happy New Year 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Thanks Ed No offence taken. I am glad that I can capture some of Dominika's sparkle on camera although the videos don't do her justice. And I have come to accept the hard truth; that I am just there as the eye candy 🤣🤣🤣

Very nice. My only gripe (which I have no right to make as it is not my boat) is how that Rocna sits on the bow roller. I like the Delta for its all-around reliability.

I think typically the people there hire boats and only have about five days on average to explore the Whitsundays, so they move a lot :)

❤ your Westsail! Or any double- ender for that matter. Great to see a more “my age” sailing couple on YT (v.s. all of the young whipper snappers these days). Especially love the bow view footage.! And can you explain the auto-tiller puller set up? Attached to a wind vane? Or to the mainsheet? I have a very similar auto-tiller. Keep up the lovely videos and fun adventuring!
@littlewing.ws32 Жыл бұрын
Hi Christopher, I might post another video of just the tiller pilot to wind vane set up. I thought it might be a bit dry to include that in a `general sailing' video. But in short, the tiller pilot is mounted so it is in a stable position. instead of attaching the drive-arm to the tiller, a rope is attached to the drive-arm which is attached to one side of the clamp that holds the wind vane. A shock cord is used on the other side of the wind vane clamp to act as resistance and hold the wind vane clamp vertical. It sounds more complicated in words than it actually is, as it is really quite simple once set up. I had good results with it although depending on the course and sea state the tiller pilot will need to be adjusted in sensitivity to manage course deviations.
@christopherstevenson9737 Жыл бұрын
@@littlewing.ws32 Thanks for the detailed reply. Perhaps a short video showing the set up? Does seem fairly simple. Addition of a few pulleys in key locations? I have a rather old Master Tiller.

Motor boat drivers ruin pretty much everything at every opportunity. When you have an entire ocean why park your bus right on top of a sailor? And the motor boat closest to you invariably starts their drunken orgy at the time sailors like to sleep in order to rest for the next favorable tide.
