Thanks for sharing @sailingin-tuitionwithchuck. One change that made a huge difference for me when sailing solo was setting up the outhaul line for the mainsail next to the loop lines on the port deck clutches and winch. Now I can easily control both lines from the port side in the cockpit, winching the outhaul with one hand while managing the loop lines with the other-without needing to move around at all. Working in 20 cm increments on the outhaul helped, and marking reefing positions on the boom has been a game-changer too. Also try the outhaul with the wind from the stern, controlling loop and outhaul on a broadreach start course, boom always on port of course. Would love to see your technique for in-mast furling next time! Cheers

Have you had any trouble with your in mast furling?

None that were attributable to the furling system. My mainsail is original and starting bag. That may eventually cause the sail to bind. But i don't count that as an issue with the selden system. If I ever bought another boat, I would want the selden system again.

In addition to ease of use and convenience, I think infinite reefing/furling options is such a great benefit. I essentially furl to keep the boat to about 15 degrees of heel. I can easily let a little out or take a little in. I think this minimizes overall stress on the boat
