Alluring Arctic Sailing is an enjoyable channel, but I spent 30’years living in the Arctic, so I am biased. I am am drawn to channels that have information that has utility in my life and quest. I have no interest in being a voyeur watching someone else live. Hugh Hefner and Larry Flint were the masters of selling pretend living to individuals who don’t want to leave their own bedrooms. Many of the modern KZbinrs are giving Hugh and Larry a good run for their money. Sincerely Chris, your channel is my favorite sailing channel. I don’t follow you for amusement or entertainment, I follow because I get useful Information for my interests. Keep it up.

Wind Hippie Sailing was the 1st channel I got hooked on a year ago when I started watching youtube sailing religiously. Soon to follow was Sailing Triteria, Sam Holmes Sailing. I liked that they solo sail crossings, sail smaller boats, experienced & courageous sailers. Quite salty & gritty. When I started looking at what it would take to buy a sailboat thats when I found Chasing Latitudes. Then thats when reality set in & it confirmed my gut feeling that it would take more time than I hoped. That's ok though. I've also been watching Sailing EV lately & I dig it. Also stumbled on a new channel, or atleast new to me, SV Restless. Watching SV Restless, gives me the perspective of what all is encompassed in making the transition from land to water. I learn alot about sailing from watching these channels. Thank you!

I still remember when Delos and La Vagabone were the only two sailing channels out there. Amazing how many have come and gone in all these years. Should tell people how much work it is to edit and put out a video while also trying to sail and live. It’s like two full time jobs. Props to the ones that pull it off.

Out of all the Channels SV Delos is still by far my favorite and top one. I still rewatch their channel from the very start. Brian will definitely go down in cruiser history for sure and hopefully he writes a book.

I have a list of over two dozen Sailing couples I follow of which a half dozen routinely as they come available. I was surprised to see your video features a half dozen I didn’t know about - and two more of which I’ve chosen not to watch like La Vagabonde. Oh, there is only one “Re-Fit” Sailing couple that I have stuck with through it all, which is “artsy” Magic Carpet. Once one couple begins, they go on my back burner except SV Delos, which I’ve followed since their earlydays. I am facinated by their new boat build - dying to see how it turns out. Hope I’m still here. Three that we do watch faithfully not mentioned: 1) ‘WeSail’, they are relatively low ranking and I cant say why, yet quite as good as the big boys. 2) ‘Gone with the Wind’, I find them the best for their off water, land side excursions. And 3) a come lately ‘Breaking Waves’ whose grounding story in three parts was was one of the best episodes of the year. - Sandy at Motuiti

Sam Holmes, Sailing Triteia, and you are my three most favorite sailing channels. Several of the ones you talked about I’ve unsubscribed from just bc of the click bait bikini bs. Huub keeps changing the name of his channel. I don’t like that but I’m still watching. Christian Williams is very interesting and entertaining to me. More a a refined sailing palate. Sailing EV is a smaller channel. I still watch but he seems to focus too much on building drama each video. But I do like his common man, rig it by the boot straps, and just duct tape it style of making due. One smaller channel I was really enjoying was Adventures in Paradise. But it seems to have gone silent.

I think James would like to be know as a "cruiser's guide" over an actual sailing channel. Dewd wrote an article sharing how he was mad that his viewership dropped because ppl stop tuning in to him pull into his 76th New Zealand anchorage / cove. Not a lot of ppl want to watch him and Rhonda touring Indo by bus. His top 20 videos are him sailing solo or when his ex-wife was half naked in the thumbnail - out of 510 videos. James has let the d**k riding comments go to his head. *the above salty comment is not directed at you personally. Im just responding to you because you were the only one that shouted out Triteia. Im sure youre a solid person. In other words, "No disrespect".

I like your Chanel a lot, criticism is always good. We started a YT Chanel just over a year ago, I decided to do it in Spanish, as 1# my wife is Hispanic speaking, and 2# theres 20 new sailing channels daily popping up, although in Spanish there is plenty, uts not half as many. Tulas Endless Summer, Sail life his "5 year project", Alluring arctic and their northwest passage Alaska to greenland, Teulu tribe, Huub Vlogs, restored a Hurricane Beryl catamaran in a only a few months and is already cruising on it, Sailing Mereweather, breaking waves (remember that whole thing beaching on the reef in south pacific), Sailing Jibsea, Cakico Skies, Travel sketch (the catamaran that was on the hard in trinidad for 600 days with warranty repairs), Harbors Unknown, Sea Catz, Sailing Awen.

I can't help but laugh at Sailing Doodles. Come on, somebody's got to do it and this guy has a nice, cruisin' party vibe. It's a guilty pleasure. The show I picked up on this year and like a lot is Garrett's Adventure. He refitted a boat about 28 feet long and at age 19 launched from Hawaii to Tahiti and beyond. I like that sort of a simple kind of show. I like Sailing Queen Jane. Another one I like is Far Reach Voyages, for refit galore - 6 years rebuilding a 32-foot Cape Dory. He gutted the thing and started from scratch with everything. At first he went from North Carolina to the West Indies without a motor. He just used a long sculling oar to get around in marinas. Far Reach Voyages is sort of a homespun channel. I'll watch the ones with the hot chicks in bikinis, and enjoy scoping out really big yachts, but it's the more blue collar sailor I like. I do not like multi-hulls. They are just too damned ugly, even if it has a pool table. There's another one I forgot the name of, but the guy is sailing an old 32-foot Contessa hither and yon.

I don’t enjoy overly commercialized sailing channels like SV Delos or Sailing Uma anymore-they feel too expensive, posh, and unrelatable. I prefer watching creators like Sam Holmes Sailing and Erik Aanderaa. They focus on authentic, chill content without bikini-focused imagery, family drama, or excessive commercialization.

Few of the big channels I once followed I stopped watching, because they got away from the sailing part. Most of these channels starting gearing the videos towards T & A for the older guys. We would call it click bait. Wish them all luck, but I do not watch their videos anymore. I like watching the channels that work on their boats and show the journeys.

Parley Revival is getting lame. This weeks episode..'...We saved a drowning bat...' 🙄 They never go anywhere. Basically, they rebuilt the boat, and sailed back to mommy and daddy, and now are just hanging in the area. The channel was popular when he was remodeling it. Jamie and him sailing with two girlfriends, and any guy they bring aboard, is gay, so their girlfriends won't sleep with them. Colin has to realize, his crew of what four, are broke. They're not working. They have no income. Colin is the only one that gets income, which screams orgy for food. It's like watching four meth heads in a 1987 Class C Motorhome, driving around visiting the 'homeless'. My prediction...Colin convinces Jamie to jump onto a moored sailboat to steal gas, and gets arrested. I figured they'd be partying in Malaysia, or in Africa by now, or up in the Med....but no...they're in some third world island. They're not going to the popular party places, they're on some island where the locals are wearing soccer and Nike shirts, and Adidas sandals. Sailing Doodles. Girlfriend is prego with twins, and he just drove his boat onto the beach, and totaled it. Next episode...'...We bought land in Puerto Rico, and are now going to build a home, OR, we jumped in the RV, and now plan on visiting the foothills of Tennessee. Sailing Doodles drew attention to his channel with all the thong thumbnails...now, he has a prego girlfriend. He'll take the insurance money from the sailboat disaster, and buy a nest for prego girlfriend.

You and I should do a KZbin channel that shits on all the KZbin sailing channels. I kept wondering why I would love a channel and then end up just annoyed by it months later. I finally figured it out. They are almost all self important assholes. They need the attention, they need to be the star. They are the main character of their own movie. Plus once the boat projects are done or the passages are sailed who wants to watch people on vacation. Their lives are boring, I certainly do not need to see people doing tourist things in other countries. They also all cop this attitude that they are not tourists. My boat is my home and where ever my home is I am part of……umm no. You are just like any tourist getting off a cruise ship. You are a tourist, nothing wrong with that but that’s what you are. I also do not get why people ( viewers ) financially support these people. I really just don’t get it especially the channels that are on multi million dollar boats. They don’t need your money yet they degrade themselves begging for likes, subs and patreon. It’s getting absurd.

I am almost ready to leave Juanlecaza Uruguay on my way to Durban South Africa with my little dog. I am trying to download the Google maps you talked about but just can't do it. I actually bought a windows PC just to get these maps. I am a bit limited with regards to tech stuff My boat is like me a beast simple and very strong and also quite fast. She is actually a dream boat simply beautiful in a lot of ways. You would just kill for this baby. A war tank, very comfortable in harsh conditions. If you have time please send me basic instructions on how to get my new PC those incredible maps. I normally use C Map and þhe heavenly bodies.😊
