As a US citizen and veteran who has been following your families adventures for years, thank you all by the way, you all are absolutely amazing and an inspiration for everyone. Just wishing you would mirror your content on to Rumble so our family can watch your adventures there. KZbin is terrible as you all know. Not sure if they demonitized you at any point, but after years of following your channel I do know that they blocked all comments on your channel which absolutely killed your growth at the height of your popularity. Rumble won't do that to you and there is only the big four sailing channels there. I'd really rather watch your content there. I'll keep watching on KZbin if that's where you all are but I personally don't care for KZbin. Cheers and hopefully you guys will fix what's needed and be off again.

Going back was mentioned multiple times, only saying "few things we need to get. Curious what the advantage is, as I always believed Mexico would be far cheaper vs the States, similar to Aus vs Indo (or NZ).
@SailingCatalpa Жыл бұрын
Yeah it's cheaper for certain things but for boat parts and ordering things online its a lot more challenging and expensive. just like Indo you can't get things easily cost of living is cheaper but fixing a boat its definitely not cheaper. labour would be most likely but we are all about DIY 😜

With your new battery's DO NOT WORRY about the charge level being 20-75% most of the time, this is their happy place and your charge controllers will pump the most solar into the batt's , and the same for the altenators.. Once you get to 75% the solar will not charge to the max amperage that they would if the battery's are more like 60% or less. I have had lithium, yes the same ones, since 2012 , and they get to 100% maybe twice a year, but they continuously are 80-40% and even lower if there is 2 weeks of poor sunlight. THEY STILL have 90% of there useful capacity after 11 YEARS of continuouisly using them every day. I di build my own from grade A Chinese cells and HAVE NO BMS other than a high and low cut off for charging or inverter use. When lithium is used for solar applications there is just not enough current going in or out that the cells imballance. As long as they are all parrelled and top ballanced, then built into your voltage structure they CAN NOT UNBALLANCE. It is only in vehicle use with DC high speed chargers that an unballance can happen.

I'm wondering what visa you got entering USA on foot? Wouldn't leaving to collect the vessel cancel the visa?
@grancitodos7318 Жыл бұрын
People miss use the word visa. They got an I 94 multiple entry card under the visa waiver scheme, for participating countries, which likely allows them 3 months, but the bastards gave me 7 days one time. Incidentally, visas are normally valid for 10 years, and don't get cancelled by leaving the country. They do not allow you to stay in the country for 10 years, they can just be used for entry during that time period.

It’s crazy how difficult the US makes it for tourists meanwhile thousands simply walk across the border everyday without a visa and have no issues.
@sailingadventuress5489 Жыл бұрын
Seriously? Do you know how hard the desert is on people? And Border Patrol is really tough too…
@barryholiday8998 Жыл бұрын
@@sailingadventuress5489 but your point doesn’t negate the fact that people are allowed to simply walk across the border with impunity. There are literally over 15 million non citizens living in the US today. They simply walked across the border or flew in on a plane with a tourist visa. They are allowed to drive, go to school, use hospitals, etc without any fear of deportation. However, for visitors to practically any other country in the world every immigration law needs to be followed to a T. Just look at what Mexico does to people who overstay their visa. Watch any sailing YT channel and see how carefully they need to follow immigration rules when they go to different countries. I’m very sympathetic to migrants and if I was in their position I would likely do the same thing. I actually provided help to 3 young migrant men from Guatemala who crossed the border in Arizona last winter and came walking up to my campsite in the middle of the desert on blm land looking for help. I gave them food and water and let them use my cell phone to call one of their cousins in the US who asked me to let them stay with me while he sent someone to pick them up. They were with me for 6+ hours. If I didn’t help them the next town in the direction they were walking was literally 24 hours away. They had no food or water.

The whole world is going from Mexico to the US so you should have no problems, at least you are getting a visa.
@grancitodos7318 Жыл бұрын
No, they could not get one, they got entry permission, being Australian, they should have a better command of English, and not call an entry card, a visa. But, northern Australia.
