Riley to take the heat off the electrical equipment, you could put an insulated box around the engines since they are water cooled. They do it with generators & it cut the noise down a whole lot. The only thing is they will need a vent with a PVC pipe so the engine can draw in air for the fuel air mixture. The radiator/raw water system will keep the diesel engine cool.

She is a beautiful vessel. I am surprised by black sails for a cruiser and you folks are not the only ones choosing this color sail. They look super cool but I suspect they are more susceptible to UV breakdown.

I thought the same thing - how anything black or dark will get so heated up and expand while in the sun, and then come nighttime, the cooling - sometimes rapidly - will re-compress / shrink it. This process will totally weaken and compromise any stitching, glues, etc. used and therefore is a durability and safety issue. You'd want to only reflect sunlight on anything so important, not absorb it - or so one would think. (But maybe someone could explain the reasoning / benefits of black sails here...)

So sorry to hear about complications with visas. Just a thought: you might ask at the American Embassy for help finding a competent immigration lawyer who is Vietnamese. They are opening their borders to international commerce, I suspect the Vietnamese officials can find a positive pathway out of your troubles that are purely bureaucratic. Their government is not exactly projecting a good image to the world through your channel. I would hope they would like to rectify the situation and change the signal they are projecting.
