Excellent - Your video's are very informative and it's obvious that you have years and years of sailing experience. I've only been watching KZbin sailing videos for about 15 months but yours are climbing consistently and are now in my top 5. Keep up the great work. Regarding crew, the difference between 2 crew and 3 crew on a long sail is immense and getting good rest is so important when making critical decisions and maintaining an alert watch. On the other hand, a boat can be a very confining space, especially if people don't get along. Sailing short-handed could be a much better option than having tensions between crew. Doing some day sails and/or overnighters with new crew is a very good idea before you commit to being stuck with them for a long period.

Hey Rebecca... Its really slow moving actually... But we will persist... The best package is from Martinique.. Digicell, post paid. 100gb per month for 60euro...works in about 20 countries through out Caribbean... We had it for a while, but no good for Bahamas so we cancelled now. Hope to catch you!

Thanks for valuable info... I think compartmentalisation is a good way to test the boat's and the skipper's seaworthiness... I'm preparing myself for solo atlantic crossing & back in 2025-26 season... I had some 4000 miles in 3 years but neither me nor my Bav38 ever left Turkish&Greek waters... I also made only two +24hr cruises (one was solo) where I believe is harder than ocean due to huge dardanelles traffic and fishing nets everywhere around... However I believe that reaching to west coast of Italy will prove that me and the boat is clear for Gibraltar... Making it to Tenerife will make us able for Cape Verde and reaching there is definetely a go for Martinique, I think... Otherwise there's no way to step out of Aegean ha? 😊

Glad you found these useful. Just remember to keep the water on the outside... And stay on the boat! Good luck with your passages. Take a gopro and then we can watch you!

Do you consider participating in ARC transatlantic crossing race? A couple with 2 friends crossed 3000 miles on TS5 in 2019 in 11 days and 16 hours. That's an average speed of 12 knots. I think Jupiter2 could do better.

Nah Garen...I understand they require a lot $ to enter and certain required equipment.... We run on a tight budget... Not going to the med anyway.

Was wondering what you have on you have screening your glass. Looks like some kind of heat reduction filter ?
@SailingLifeonJupiter4 жыл бұрын
On the wrap around windows? It's just shade cloth from the hardware sewn into shape and snap clipped on... Its to reduce the sunlight coming in, or more privacy in a marina. But it does rub/scratch the polycarbonate after a while... But polycarbonate can be polished.

Hello! Why aluminum? Which advantage and disadvantages this material for catamaran?
@SailingLifeonJupiter4 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for watching... Omg, I'll soon be making a vid on this subject... Many advantages with aluminium... Stiff, strong great for big seas and running up on reefs! Cheap material to buy. Will theoretically protect you and your electronics in lightening.

Hi, Which book do you recommend for ocean crossings?
@SailingLifeonJupiter4 жыл бұрын
I suppose Jimmy Cornell books are the "bibles" for ocean crossings.... Good for information. But ANY book that INSPIRES you to untie the lines is best.

Sure Norman.. Ep 13 "Big Drama on Jupiter kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJuTc5mwrLh5jbc It was cold in Cape Town and we had the blow heater running... only happened once or twice.

@@SailingLifeonJupiter Up in the Pacific NorthWest we would need to run a dehumidifier during the colder months to reduce the condensation. Instead of emptying the collector tray constantly, I have seen other boats run them with a hose attachment into the sink or out a port light. The better idea is to stick to warm climates!
