So stoked you found a boat! So, now the hard/ best part starts... the build/rebuild. She looks like an awesome vessel that you can put your blood/ sweat/ tears/ heart and soul into. Every problem you face is just another opportunity to learn and every thing that breaks is just another thing you know how to fix. Peace and (soon to be) fair winds.

Great choice on the boat. A friend of mine had a 382 in the Apostle Islands and we sailed it in every type of weather condition with no worries. You know Brewer did a great job designing this boat because there are so many of them out there still sailing. Enjoy!

Hey kids...remember this..."The journey IS the destination!" I'm not sure what your last comment meant about not making it out but please embrace it and know that the universe is perfect in all ways. I always tell people, what I want and when I want it usually isn't what's best for me. Ü I know this is easy for me to say but trust me when I say you will soon look back and be able to see the "why" in all of this. BTW...I love love love San Diego and its always been my dream city. I used to live in Lemon Grove for a short time at a place called OHI and that's how I fell in love with SD. I also lived in Ann Arbor which I thought I heard you mention. And, I was born in Flint Michigan. Wondering where in MI your family is. I also have friends in Wisconsin and lived in Minneapolis for 23 years. My cast off date is November 7th 2020 so hopefully we'll cross paths on the BIG BLUE! Love your channel! PEACE OUT! ps, Do you still have the yoga pants or did she make you give them up?!

Ran across your channel watching a few of our other favorite sailing video channels while we get our fix waiting for Lake Michigan to thaw and another sailing season. Glad to see Ben Miller doing your boat survey. He helped us with ours when we bought our boat ('87 Hunter 28.5) 3 years ago. Very knowledgable and was promoted as "the best" this side of Lake Michigan. We had intended to start a KZbin channel about sailing when we originally bought the boat but it is so difficult to find the time to edit footage quickly enough to post it and before you know it our short summers here are over! You've got our sub and we as a family will enjoy following your adventure. Great work!!! We peaked ahead on your instagram account can't wait to see more! Also thanks for the censorship. 😁

I thought that was Ben. He did the survey on both boats that I looked at too. Very, very good. He came recommended by a friend in the maritime restoration business and was worth his weight in gold. He helped me avoid a bad purchase and then did a thorough survey on the PSC 34 that I ended up getting. In your next video it looks like you were at Larsen Marine in Waukegan?? Did you happen to use Ed Jirsa as a broker? He was a great deal of help during my boat search.

So she has a max air draft of 53' right? So only the bridges in Chicago will require taking down. The mast. Draft is under 6' so should be able to go down the rivers and TenTom.
@SailingSoulianis7 жыл бұрын
Correct, there is a 19.5ft bridge in Chicago you have to get under. All the other bridges are opening, or above 54' at normal pool. However there really aren't too many places to actually sail on the way down, and we're not sure where we'd feel comfortable re-stepping in between Chicago and the Gulf.
