Hi, just found your channel and I am looking forward to your journey. I agree, it is ok to feel overwhelmed and emotional, in fact I think its good that you talk about it in the video because that is the reality.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. We try to keep it as real as possible and we try to enjoy it as much as possible! We’ve got downs but the ups are so worth it!!

I look forward every week to your video, your channel is by far my favourite sailing channel. I see someone has already suggested Darwin, I also think it would be much quicker and Darwin is an amazing place; the people, the markets, the whole culture is very unique. It is probably too late to change as I imagine you are a month or so behind in the videos. Keep it real, I am sure the vast majority appreciate your honesty. Cheers David

Thanks a lot for the feedback, we’re glad you’re enjoying it!! It means a lot to us. We’ve heard Darwin is beautiful but we would be stuck there for a while, without being able to go in the water as there’s crocs everywhere 😬 Cairns would be a better choice for us, but maybe we have no choice and we’ll redirect to Darwin. We’ll see how the crossing goes and we’ll keep in mind Darwin is a backup! Cheers!!

lightning protection is a tricky subject especially for catamarans.
@SailingTakeItEasy2 ай бұрын
For sure, we’ve got a broom at the top of the mast that runs straight in the water, but we know it’s not magic and if we get hit, we’ll probably get our electronics fried.. but it’s worth a try!

Not sure of your time line but come up to Kudat or the Philippines there are ways to get parts etc in fairly easily.

Thanks for the suggestion! Yes timeline is a few months back sadly, but we are thinking more and more about visiting the Philippines in the near future!

Getting to Darwin would be a lot easier than the east coast, but maybe you can't get your repairs done so easily there?
@SailingTakeItEasy2 ай бұрын
I think we could get the repairs done, but we would be stuck there for a while. We’ve heard Darwin is beautiful, but maybe not for that long as you can’t go in the water because of the crocs. We really loved cairns in the past, so if we can make it that far, it would be so much better for us 🤞🏻

I was going to ask why Darwin wasn’t an option, still seems like a better option to me, but I’m sitting at home on my couch in Adelaide freezing my butt off, I’d really rather be sailing to Thursday Island with you guys, good luck and fair winds

Any chance you can get hold of a raymarine st 2000 tiller pilot? I had one as a back up for my main autopilot (same as yours) and frankly it was just as good and at times, even better- My cat was 35' long so about your size. Cheers Phil

There’s no way we can get anything delivered in time south east Indonesia unfortunately.. it would take month and the winds will be against us! We had so many backups, it’s painful but maybe we need to get one of those when we are in Australia!
@pmorph2 ай бұрын
@@SailingTakeItEasy What a complete pain! I had two ST2000 as back up-- they were very good and, totally independant from an external 'brain' to control them.
