Thank you so very much! That is exactly what I wanted to know. That was a wonderfully clear explanation. The KoP looks larger than I’d find comfortable in my hand, but I am pleased to understand more about these pens. I thought that they were own category, not larger models of the ProGears and 1911s. If you're looking for an affordable test balloon, check out the Jinhao Dadao 9019. Of course, the steel nib is not going to perform like a Sailor 21k gold nib, but it'll give you a feel for the girth.

@@ruthfeiertag I have two, one with an F nib and one with a juicy M nib. The screw-in converter has a large ink capacity bringing it close to a piston filler. Unlike the X159 the converter doesn't rattle.

Now the Sailor Pro Gear Mini. I have a 21kt Mini but it’s my understanding that that’s a rarity for the Mini-as it’s usually 14kt. Mine also seems to have very minute dimensional differences. To be fair it is a Bungubox Limited Edition 🤷‍♂️
