Also das Lied gehört zu meinen Lieblingen, es macht immer gute Laune und ich finde es schade, dass es im Radio so selten gespielt wird. Das Video sehe ich grade zum ersten Mal und ich mußte so lachen, als ich gesehen habe, dass hier Ausschnitte aus dem uralt Softcore Pc-Spiel "Larry Laffer in the Land of Lounge Lizards" verwendet wurde. I was 14 when I fell in love with George Kajanus and Sailor. I even saw them in concert. Grant Serpell inspired me to learn to play drums and I just wanted to be like him. I'm 62 now and haven't heard any of their music since the Sailor album (which I still have on vinyl). Thank you, Mr K, for sharing this stuff with us, it means a lot to hear new songs after all these years. 😍🙏🏽

Cannot describe how good it feels to find something 'new' by Sailor after 30+ years. Incredible! I used to love these guys. Glass of Champagne is an all time fave. And here I am, probably 30 years after last i listened to them I find a bunch of new stuff. Big congrats to the boys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me too! Only even discovered Sailor this year 2021 thanks to channel 76 on Freeview, now music, I’d missed them completely back in the day, maybe I was just too young as didn’t really hear music til late 70s. Sailor are brilliant, as others have said it’s like finding treasure.

Weil die 80er zu Ende sind, aber v.a. weil man alles schematisch kommerzialisiert, anstatt den Kommerz dahingehen zu lassen, wo das tatsächliche Talent liegt. Damals haben sich eben Genres danach gerichtet, wo die Künstler hingegangen sind, dann sind einige auf den Zug aufgesprungen und etwas Neues kam. Heute wird es nach Genres sortiert, sofort vervielfältigt und nur noch gleich geschrieben. Deshalb klingen auch alle Songs gleich und sind nach 2 Jahren vergessen.

There is a connection, I think, between sailor and XTC. Andy Partridge has, on occasion, sung like Georg did on ' glass of champagne ' and this sounds not unlike XTC's ' mayor of simpleton '. Either way, respect to both bands.
