There's an entire generation that grew up hearing that version, and there are millions who heard it long before Miss Darwich [born in 1972] came along and covered it in 1987. Not to mention that Tommy James and The Shondells also recorded such other "forgettable" songs as "Crimson and Clover", "Mony Mony", and "Crystal Blue Persuasion". the generation gap has become a chasm because the younger isn't learning from the elder. elders aren't digital natives. youngers are. how do we communicate across that? i don't mean to be a buzzkill when most here are escaping to their feel-good days, but we're in danger of losing things much more important than our pop culture. unless we learn to relate to the younger and see the world through their eyes, and then teach them to relate to us so they can appreciate the world through our eyes, our entire zeitgeist will vanish in a flash and the younger will start from scratch, doomed to repeat our mistakes and relearn the lessons of our history. to be clear, encyclopedic knowledge of history isn't the same as knowing the lessons of history. those lessons can't be transmitted through wikipedia. if you don't believe me, consider american government. senior politicians haven't done much to mentor their replacements, and a lot of them aren't stepping aside to make room for the new dogs. as a result, we have a geriatric government that is out of touch with the people it's supposed to represent, and we have extremism in both parties. the gap between seniors and juniors creates dysfunction within the same party, and the extremism creates dysfunction between opposing parties. frustrations mount and we react by electing someone more extreme than before, either pushing the envelope farther in the same direction or swinging the pendulum to a greater but opposite extreme.

I had the biggest crush on Tiffany that was humanely possible for a kid back then. I still get goosebumps just watching this video.

I feel you. I haven't even lived in the 80s and I get goosebumps from this video too.

Guess it's a matter of taste... But I was 13 back then... and I really didn't like her at all (as if she were ugly, which of course she is not). I did like Debbie Gibson... (maybe stupid stereotypes I had in my head as a teenager).

I can't stop watching Tiffany dancing with that older gentleman and having so much fun. Seems like everyone back then were happy and dancing. I just can't get with the mess that is going on today.

My parents grew up in the 1980s and their parents, who grew up in the 50s, said the same thing about the 80s. Believe it or not, people will probably be nostalgic for the 2020s despite all that’s going on.

@@veronicabeatrice1133 Exactly because things are such a mess now. Sometimes I go back to music, tv sitcoms and movies when it was more normal.

It definitely was and more about personal encounters and adventures. The nostalgia will never be replaced as we were the last of a kind and beginning of another.Whole different time now
