Saint Jo has that feeling of the old west and it's no surprise as it was one of the last stops along the Chisholm Trail before crossing the Red River. On my visit I encountered some of the friendliest people that I've ever met in Texas. Join me on a tour of this charming little town.

Amazing. It's a beautiful experience to just get lost in time for a day in one of those historic little Texas towns. Thanks for the upload! 🤠👍🏼

I lived in Wichita Falls for five years when I was in the Air Force. I went through Saint Jo to and from Lake Texoma many times but never stopped. Now I'm sorry I didn't. Thanks for sharing.

Nice video of a really neat little town that I have visited several times when going thru the area. My Grandmother was born near Illinois Bend in 1879, left with her parents and six siblings when they emigrated to the Chickasaw Nation with 2 wagons, and 60 head of cattle, crossing at Red River station.. She died of tuberculosis at age 48 in Marlow, Oklahoma. Sure wish I could have known her.

Nice job! The folks that started the museum can trace their family all they way back to the 1850s in St. Jo. The project was a grassroots roots effort. The whole town chipped in with cash and artifact donations and they are constantly on the lookout for more things to add. They are very proud of their little museum and I have to say my visit with them and my tour of the old saloon was very informative.

My mother's family used to come here for family get-togethers/reunions many many moons ago (1950s), out at Katy Lake. I was lucky enough to go to one of their "updated" get-togethers back in the 1980s. I sent my mother a link to your channel, I hope she finds this video....I think she'll enjoy it.

I was interested in seeing how you would present this town to your viewers as I've been there several times on my motorcycle (great ride if you cut up through Decatur taking back roads then go down the "drop-off" just outside of St. Jo). It's such a quiet town square.....of the 3-4 times Ive been there, my wife and I were the only one's in the square (besides merchants). Interesting they're remodeling the hotel. My friend who has a home near there said they were growing and wanted me to open a kolache shop in the square. Another great video!

With DFW continuing to grow and the Hill Country being overcrowded most weekends, this may be a great alternative for people.
